Walking past a nice looking car, as it happens on my way to get my hair cut and I start looking at this white small car that has been lowered and had some great decals on it.  Its lines looked clean and the form the looks of it the person who has it keeps it clean.  In short it looks mint!

It must of looked like I was casing the car as I had walked around it and spent a minute or so looking at the black interior and the red stitching.  I really liked the contrast between the black and red.  Looked at the back doors and saw that it looked good as five door.  I liked it a lot and I loved the colour choice.  The de-badged rear was something that I have done on all my cars, so much respect to the owner I thought.  The kicker for me was it meant I didn’t have a clue what car its was other than a Skoda.   As soon as I get back home, I thought I will have to go and google it to see what it is!

Five door……I have always liked three door cars….I have always thought that they look better than five door cars.  I have owned 5 door car because of having family.  The last car I had was 3 door Citroen C1 and it was a 3 door.  As boring as the above paragraph is I am really saying up til I saw this car I never really liked….what ever this car I have seen I love it!

Back Story

I own a VW T5 Transporter, which is the vehicle I have always wanted to own.  Its in white and its modded.  Its not converted into a camper van but used a day van.  I have dropped it and put 20” inch alloys on it..

I have been looking for a new car to replace the Citroen C1 for about 18 months. In have been torn between a Golf GTI or a couple of year old Golf R32.  I have looked at the Octavia vRS in blue (always liked the blue).  I thought about going old school with a VW Bora V5 (I had owned one 15 years ago and wanted to relive my youth).  I still miss the recaro leather.

I googled, I found, I fell in love…..

Time to go shopping nearest Skoda Garage is

Trust Stourbridge

So I meet a member of staff called Lauren.  To be fair she was great!  She let me look around my first Citigo Monte Carlo in white.  I sat in the back and the leg room is good.  I love the interior; I love the look.

Laruen asked me if I wanted to test drive a Citigo.  I asked if I could drive the Monte Carlo that was on the forecourt. She said straight away I could and we did.  30 seconds into test drive I knew!  This is the one!

I could have any car – and I go for Citigo Monte Carlo! Whats going on!

Rang a different Skoda garage and talked to sales.  They couldn’t beat the quote I had been given.  Things a looking good!  Trip again to the dealers and confirmed a few questions I had.  Confirmed the deal!  Best price and great sales person! Get in!

Monday 9th January 2017

9am – Placed the order –

Rear Parking Senseors

Crusies Control

Mud flaps Front and Rear

Mats

Boot Mats

Spare Wheel (temporary)

White Monte Carlo 2017

Things to decide upon

Keep totally Standard – Even keeping to the same brand of tyres

Do I put pressed plates on it?

Do change the blubs?

I have asked the dealers not to wash the car.  I am having it detailed and they have told me to request it not be cleaned.  They want to do it so there are no defects – or if there are then its from the manufacturers!

Plus anti hijack feature enabled by dealer!

That should already be enabled shouldn't it?? I take it you mean when the doors auto lock at something like 5-10mph??? Ours has always done it anyway.

1)So i think I might but carpet in the boot (will do it myself with sound deading materiel first and then carpet (I have some left over from other projects)

2)German plates

3) Car key covers

4) Wait for car and see if I want to change the bulbs over.

5) Wait and see if the wheel archer could do with the covers.

Have to say the lights look amazing

Wonder if it's possible to retro fit them when they come available through scrap yards?

I've always wanted to fit the Sequential DRLs (Lexus have them and so do Audi Q3s) with switchback.. but wouldn't know how to, not only that but it would probably void the warranty?
