puddle lights

Featured Replies

Anyone please give step by step instructions on replacing bulb on the puddle light of a superb

Moved out of 'site help and feedback'.

Are you refering to the puddle light in the door?

Sorry no, under the wing mirror

Not changed one myself as yet tbh, is it combined with the indicator like the Octavia?

Not sure, only bought the car on Saturday and its dark now so not going outside to see

This is quite a simple thing to do and I have done this on my Superb as my driver's LED got water inside and the electrics failed.

All you have to do is simply push the wing mirror casing upwards (towards the roof of the car) and then it will clip off.

Then you will see two screws under the bottom of the wing mirror, undo these.

The LED light is attached and glued to a seperate housing that clips around the wing mirror metal connector closest to the glass. Unclip this housing section with the LED in and also unclip the electrical connector.

You then need to have a replacement part from the dealer, then you basically revert the process above to fit it. The part is around

This might help:rolleyes:

Removing and installing the mirror housing

Just as I had described, although it doesn't detail removing the screws....

It's not a bulb Tom it's LED's within a little puddle lamp, that is adhered to a complete molding, the last image of the three above highlights a large grey part that wraps around the wing mirror numbered '2', this is the one you replace it is a molding with the lamp in it.............

I'd check for water under the passenger seat first, it may be that a water ingress/wiring issue is what is causing the puddle light to be out.

Am a bit concerned about it as my climate control is not working on the temperature flap the demister flap and the recirculate. Took it to an auto electrician who tried the new flap but didnt work, the codes wont reset and changing the flap just altered the code order!! have seen something about the water ingress on the mirror causing a short but dont know if they are linked. The auto electrician I used advised to go to Skoda. £58 + vat just for the diagnostic doh!! As a side I rang my local skoda dealer and the replacement light unit is £50 in total. Is it right under the passenger seat to check for water?

Had a look and looks like it could be the fault, if not the climate control maybe the light!! nice car in the avatar by the way! how far is it lowered and did it kill the ride? Will have a quick look under the carpet and see if I can sort it!!

There used to be a thread on here with everything detailed on my motor but I'm not sure where that has gone now since the upgrade, anyway here is a link to some details on it:

Height wise all I know is that I have no rear adjuster blocks and the front is as low as I can go without scrapping on everything on the road...........

Ride quality is suprisingly comfortable...........
