I've been privileged enough to have a ride around Crich in it a couple of years ago

:D:cool::D:cool::D:cool:

Michael O'Leary drives to work in a Skoda? I don't think so!

YEY!

Im famous! haha

Im glad i had a fleece and jacket on, i was freezing!

Good pics Darren, there was some nice cars at Crich...

No. 6 is a Zaporozhets! Soviet copy of the NSU Prinz which was not uncommon in Sweden when I was a kid. And a Skoda connection - NSU merged with Auto Union in the 60's = AUDI (VAG)

The Tatra is just lovely

Great pics, Darren. Can I add a few?

Wow (Tatraskoda) Allen I'm drooling over those 603s.

Have you got your winner's cup from Crich yet?

I'm seriously considering next June's SALT2 tour,

the missues hasn't said NO WAY, so looks possible.

Any pix of your S110R yet?

Just to make Daverapid really jealous!

cheers .. darren

Nice pics , shame you had to spoil them by including a shed! (class 66....ying ying ying ying....)

Trust me in the cab you'd be yearning to hear the ying ying ying sound.

You just hear your ears bleeding from the powerunit shaking the loco to pieces!

It's quieter to stick your head outside the window,

not very good at 75mph or in the rain & cold.

From a reliability point of view they are awesome,

in the last 2 years I've had 1pcb work loose on a 66 in traffic &

3 fail to start on shed due to flat batteries.

I've lost count of how many 60s have had a traction motor isolated,

I've had a fuel injection pipe come off & the power unit overspeed & shutdown.

But hey the cabs are really quiet, except for the heater blower!

Plus even on five motors they'll still lift 2600 tonnes on an icy hill,

I tell ya, that traction control software defies the laws of physics!

Anyhooo back on topic ...

errr old cars ... great!

Well, thank you for that free plug Darren! :thumbup:As you've mentioned it, can I add that any of you who drive pre-91 Skodas are very welcome to join SALT-2 next June. It's a touring event with a Cold War theme for all Eastern European cars made before the fall of the USSR. Last year was great fun, & this years will be better, especially as last year we had NO SKODAS! Things can only get better!

No more pics of the Coupe yet, expect a deluge of them around the end of November when the car comes home. Haven't got my cup yet, but have got an email from Crich who have said they are buying me a new one :) which should be posted to me this weekend :D

I'm getting Tatra-lust again!

And loved the Alexander's bodied Leopard.

I know what you mean Ken!!!

I remember seeing one of those buses advertised a few years ago,

it had been converted to be a camper in the front half

& a 2 car carrier in the back!

Now how handy would that be if you owned 2 old octavias!

Still there's always next time!
