£30 Airfield Training Day @ North Weald Nr Harlow 22nd September!

Carlimits are running a 30 car driver training day on 22nd September if anyone is interested.

I'm booked in with the 968, but didn't know if any of you lot would be interested?

Heard that it is meant to be a very good day....

Alternatively we could try and get a Skoda day there? Looks like other clubs do it.....

"ITINERARY

09.00am
Your meeting point will be at the Airfield. There will be only 1 gate open on the day, next to the Air Traffic Control Tower. The person on the gate will direct you to where you will need to be. You will need to bring your licence with you on the day. You will then be given a safety briefing by your instructor.

9.30am - 4.00pm
A large group day with a number of tests for the car including
High speed bend.
A blast down the staight.
Slalom.
Small circuit.
manovering section.
braking section.

Lunch will be staggered between 12.00 and 2.00"

To me it sounds pretty good for £30, I spoke to a guy the other week who had done it and he said its supprising how much you learn from the day....

They also do 2 / 4 car days which are obviously more expensive but have alot more 1 to 1 tuition I guess......

Sounds similar to a handling day we did a couple years back but with a few other bits extra.

Sounds like a plan. Will have to check a few things out.

Be better if it was not mid-week, but as they have a large Saturday market there, the only other day would be a Sunday?

Would be nice as only ten mins from me.

North Weald is an amazingly cool airport. I have landed there a couple of times and there are some proper vintage planes.

Would be nice to have a skoda only day would be well cool.

Thinking about it, I have a North Weald hat

I still have a Golf GTI for such occassions.

Then we'll see who understeers "like a boat"

I'VE BOOKED IT!

The Fabia is supposed to be handed back that day, but I sent a quick email to the lease company saying I'll drop it off on the Monday instead! What a good way to give the old gal a sending off.

If they don't let me I'll just do it in the Corsa, the Golf won't be road legal by then.

So, I'm booked - do the same, for £30 it'll be a laugh.
