  1. Yup, I use RRG in Rochdale. Car still performing OK to 1 week down the line! beginning to like it again, especially the 52MPG i'm getting up & down the motorway.
  2. Well it went in on Tuesday for the software fixes and........dare I say it, I've drove since then with no errors đŸ¤Ģ a mixture of motorway and town drives, which always produced a error but nothing! No changes to the versions shown in the settings but summat happened.
  3. Well, picked it up late yesterday afternoon & been out in it twice since, then a long blast down the motorway today and........dare I say it? It seems to be behaving! ( I'm gonna regret saying that!) 😁🙄
  4. Oh well, today's the day! Dropped off at 8.30. Grumpy service manager asked if the fault was showing now? (Which it wasnt) she said because my car was brand new it had missed the update? To which I replied 'How can that be when it was only released last week'. I don't hold out much hope!🙄
  5. Mine is in for the software update tomorrow, I was told about it 2 weeks ago but tomz is the 1st available date for me. Here's hoping it will work, although I won't hold my breath!!!! My bloody car decided to ring the SOS number the other day no matter what I did it wouldn't cancel the call, I was greeted by '999 which service do you require!' 😡
  6. Yes - Had my 22 plate Octavia estate 3 weeks and the SOS drama has raised its head! Every trip now I get the 2 loud clunks from the unit above ya head, 3 phone calls to the dealer who promised 3 times to call me back and didn't till today when I lost my rag and told em what I thought of em . Apparently for anyone who has the SOS fault, there is a new release out at the end of the month, mine is now booked in for it on the 3rd of May.
  7. Well, a bit of progress today (after I had a rant at someone for NOT ringing me back for the third time of being promised that someone would!!!) The service manager has just rang me to tell me that the fault with the SOS system has not been fixed by the software upgrade that was released in the past (I told them about the release in June 21 that was posted on here). Apparently "SKODA" technical boffins had said that the recall that was done then has not fixed all cases and that another software upgrade that is being worked on now is due to be released the back end of this month which I will be able to book mine in for the on the 3rd May. They'll need the car for the whole day as its a lengthy update......Watch this space!!! I then asked why they were still selling brand new vehicles with a known fault with them for which she squirmed ummed and arrred and couldn't give me an answer for. She tried saying it was a relatively new fault??? To which I laughed at and said 'What?! There are cases going back to 2018 that I can see just looking at the web. Oh well, just have to put up with it for a week or so till the supposed fix
  8. Surely it shouldn't STILL be happening though on the new cars??? 🙄 (Sorry I should know better before I said that 😆) I've just read that its been affecting them since 2018, thought they'd have sorted it by now?
  9. I've recently bought an Octavia within the last month, and this nonsense with the 2 popping noises SOS & yellow warning triangle appearing, it sends the infotainment system haywire and then tries to restart. Funny thing is that when I get home or where I'm going, I turn the ignition of lock the car, come back to it and it resets itself and the warning message is gone???? Rang my Skoda dealer twice about it now and been promised someone will recontact me from the service department.............I'm still bloody waiting! 😠😡 The last person I spoke to said "If the fault clears itself there's nothing we can do because it won't show up on our diagnostic system" ????? Not impressed to say the least ☚ī¸
  10. Is there any way what you can just turn off the Bl**dy thing??? i.e. pull a wire out of the box or remove the plug? or will doing that throw up a dash error?? Not really interested in fixing it just want it to shut up! Regards Jase
  11. Excellent!!! Thanks guys, never had the rear wheels off on this one yet, but it sounds simpler than doin them on my old Vaux Omega, it had shoes inside the disc & was a right PITA! (so that's why I was wonderin) Another quick Q?? The outer CV boot front left has split, what are you guys opinions on those 'easy fit - split' type gaiter???? the ones you glue the seam, any good??? OR is it hub out & fit a proper one??? Thanks in advance
  12. Been notified that the rear discs & pads are nearing the end of their life. Just wondering what kind of a job it is to do DIY??? AND are the handbrake shoes inside the drum on the Superb??? Any experience / explanations appreciated. Regards
  13. Driving home from work this evening and I experienced rather a weird fault. In lane 2 doing about 60-70mph, all of a sudden slight loss of power, then all back to normal again........However the temperature gauge stopped registering???? Anyone any ideas on why??? I pulled over as soon as I could, looked under the bonnet and expected to see an empty coolant bottle or some coolant type fault, but all appeared fine, nothing untoward??? drove home fine but the temp needle was not registering anything, all other electrics are fine????
  14. Got my 05 plate 2.5Tdi Auto back in February this year, it only had 19k on the clock when I bought it and drove like a new car. Its got nearly every extra going and I love it!!! I generally use it for motorway comuting to work & back usually seeing about 42mpg. Had it serviced & cambelt done only because of the time elapsed & more recently a new battery. Now got 27k and runs as sweet as a nut!
  15. Hi all, was wondering how easy/hard is it to DIY fit a towbar & electrics to my 05 plate 2.5TDi & could anyone recommend a kit to do so??? Regards Jason
