  1. I actually had a better price from a dealer than WBAC were offering. Did the haggling for price on new car through CarWow initially. Once new car price agreed I then got extra £1000 Skoda loyalty and free £500 fuel card in addition. Finally asked if dealer interested in taking my 13 Citigo Elegance (32000 miles) in PX and got an offer of £4950. All of this was done over the net/e-mail. WBAC offer after a couple of revisions was £5000 but after fees was slightly worse than dealers offer. Admittedly this was the purchase of a new car when Skoda were running dealer wide special offers but if you can bide your time they do run offers on used cars as well.
  2. Visit to dealer I'm afraid. In 3 years ownership I was on my 3rd PID. 1x Navigon and 1x Garmin replaced under warranty, 2nd Garmin playing up. Glad to see the back of the PID when changed Citigo for a Yeti few days ago. In the experience the PID is a pile of w*nk, the only part of the Citigo I've had cause to complain about.
  3. I would guess fuel filter or kink/dent in fuel line, throw any stones up on your run? I could of course be completely wrong but without access to diagnostics they're what I would check first.
  4. Yeah have always used Brodit mounts for the phone (been a little disappointed with the one for the Citigo though getting dislodged too easily) but prefer to have sat nav above the dashboard rather than having to completely take eyes off road to use. Edit: Hmmn, just seen the one for the Yeti. It's above dash level but not sure I like the positioning, rather than being central (ideal) it clips to the right hand windscreen pillar, think it may cause a blind spot, have to wait till the Yeti arrives & consider the options.
  5. Have had no trouble changing mine under warranty, first time at 11 months and second time at 21 months. Don't know if it makes a difference but I bought the Elegance model where the PID was included in the price. Dealer reckons problems are not unusual.
  6. As far as I'm concerned the PID is a pile of carp! Car is coming up to three years old and I'm now on the third PID (second Garmin version) which has now started to play up. Be glad to see the back of it when the Citigo goes next month. Looking forward to a Yeti and a TomTom stuck on the windscreen.
  7. Anyone looking for some unbiased advice re car cams could do a lot worse than look at Techmoan's website. If you look at any of his youtube reviews (recommended) you may find his voice a little boring but the content is usually very worthwhile.
  8. Yes, I tried that but unfortunately my car is quite often not used for 3 or 4 days at a time, and I found the super capacitor was not capable of keeping the RTC going for that amount of time. Having to keep setting the time & date was a pita. Changing the stock battery for a 50ma one solved the problem. The new battery is much smaller and can be glued to a piece of aluminium to act as an extra heat sink.
  9. Should have said in previous post. If you go the Mobius route make sure you get the wide angle less option and a genuine Mobius camera, there are ripoffs around.
  10. Fitted a Mobius to mine. Nothing fancy with it, no GPS etc but reliable, good quality video & it just works. Used a psu with it that turns on with the ignition rather than rely on the built in battery. Actually changed the standard battery for a much smaller one as the standard ones have been know to explode in hot weather. Has been running for 18 months without problem. Makes a brilliant witness should you need it.
  11. Afraid I can't find much to really praise the PID for. Now on my third unit in two & half years, dealer tells me I am no way alone in the problems I've had. Probably spoiled by TomTom, I-Phone & Android all of which are more intuitive and none of those have ever cut out on me unlike my first (Navigon) and second (Garmin) PID's. Bluetooth is decidedly flaky with all the phone's I have tried thus far (Nexus 4, I-Phone, Nexus 5, HTC 1m8), both for phone calls and playing music. Got round the music problem by using a Micro sd card in the PID but how many media player are so archaic that they don't understand play lists? For me the only thing that has worked consistantly is Car Info. As I say on my third unit and will not be surprised if this one goes the same way as the others.
  12. From memory and without actually measuring. About 20 to 25cm.
  13. Have to say I've found the PID a pita. I'm on my third one in just over two years. Bluetooth very flaky and if you've used a TomTom you'll find the sat nav cumbersome and unintuitive. Dealer tells me I am far from alone with the problems I've had. Glad I got the extended warranty as I'll not be surprised to need further replacement/s.
  14. After all you've been through I'd be bug***ed if all they did was fit a new bit of plastic tubing & fixed it in place.
  15. Car just over two years old and now on third PID. Problems with bluetooth, cutting out, refusing to turn on. Glad I took the 5 year extended warranty as have no faith that this one will last any longer than it's predecessors. In my humble opinion they are cack.
