  1. Ah no! How could I have warped the discs again though? They were good quality ones, and plus I made double sure to not brake harshly and hold the brakes down (when coming off the motorway for example) as I am aware how this can lead hot pads to be squeezed onto the discs and thus warp them... Yeah, will be using polybushes as a replacement after reading what people have said about them. Any ideas on best place to buy from?
  2. Hi all, Been having problems with the dreaded creaky squeaky sound from the front drivers wheel of my fabia, and all signs seem to be pointing to it being a knackered rear console bush that needs replacing. However, despite having had my warped discs changed a few months back, the steering wheel now seems to be wobbling again when braking from 40+ mph.... This was what led me to getting the discs done last time. I have spoken to my uncle who changed the discs for me last time (retired bus and lorry mechanic of 30+ years) and he said that he wonders if a knackered console bush could be causing this new wheel wobble under braking due to a loose suspension assembly from the worn bush? Also, how does one check for certain whether the console bushes need doing? I don't want to have them done and find out that something else is wrong, or that they don't need doing in the first place... The car has been hacking of off lately as lots of little things all seem to need doing at once. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give... Pk.
  3. Thank you, very helpful. Based on that, and the prices, I will most likely go for Bosch. Cheers! PK
  4. Hi all, I need new brakes and pads for my 1.2HTP as the current discs are warped. Any pointers on good brands to go for? Looked on Euro Car Parts and they seem to be showing Eicher, Bosch and Pagid? Any thoughts/experience would be welcome. Cheers, PK
  5. Looking great! I really like the GT bumper (I may get rocks thrown at me, but I personally prefer it to the VRS one)! When you say you attached the mesh to the clips, do you mean the clip holes inside the bumper where the old sticky out clips of the standard grilles slot in? If you get what I mean.. haha.
  6. Hi guys, Will start a little project thread of my car soon- it's a Silverline 1.2HTP by birth, but I've altered it cosmetically to look more VRS-ish (spoiler, wheels, bumpers etc). Just wondering, what impact on sound would an intake mod such as a K&N kit have? Also, is there a way to add a K&N kit without removing the big plastic cover? I like the cover and don't fancy removing it to replace with a bit of tubing and a cone filter as I have seen done before. I just want a little more of a low-end growl when accelerating- it's a ridiculously quiet car!
  7. Managed to get a decent deal from a mate of an uncle, so happy days! All on and looks lovely
  8. Right, in the end I went for Sikaflex EBT- £7 from Screwfix and the bugger is still held in place two months later, after having horrendous rain, hot sun and motorway winds chucked at it. Job done
  9. Thanks- am in the process of finding Tiger Seal now
  10. Hi all, I have finally managed to lay my hands on a VRS spoiler for my non-VRS Fabia MK1. It is being sprayed up this week hopefully, and so I will need to attach it to my car. I have read around that Tiger Seal is the best bet, is this correct? Is it just a matter of gluing onto the spoiler and whacking it down onto the boot? Any experience/technique tips would be appreciated- I've placed the spoiler in place to see how it looks and noticed it kinda needs to be slid back to its final resting place. Does this result in mess? Cheers, PK
  11. What makes are the tyres? Tried looking from the pic but wasn't able to tell. Did you run them on your car with these tyres on and were there any issues with different tread patterns? Ta, PK
  12. Is this still available? Only problem is im in Solihull, near Birmingham West Midlands...
