  1. Hi @pab567. Appreciate any help up upgrading my bolero firmware. Thanks.
  2. Hi, appreciate any help on updating to newer firmware. Thanks!
  3. I had the same issue with my 2014 vRS. Outside of the rear disc were pitting and corroding badly and noisy under braking. I flagged it to the dealer at 1st service but they said it was normal wear. it got to the point where it was grinding under normal driving at 17k miles so I booked it into another dealer for rear discs and pads and asked them to check for anything unusual and keep the old parts. They told me calipers were slightly sticky but when I looked at the old parts it was clear the inner pads were worn down to the metal and outers were like new, with the groove still visible. All braking was being done by inner pads. I was not happy having malfunctioning calipers from new and having to replace discs and pads at 17k miles. Dealers agreed it was unusual but brakes are wear and tear, so I took it up with Skoda customer services who also gave "wear and tear" defence. I raised it further with the motor codes ombudsman but an independent inspection would be required at more than the £120 the new brakes cost me so not cost effective and with no guarantee of success so I had to accept defeat at that point. Edit: just re-read the op and it seems he has a different issue with break wear uneven across the outer face. My issue was uneven wear between inner/outer pads.
  4. Is there much difference in performance between the 2-ch and 3-ch systems? I think the 3rd channel is cam position but not sure how it works.
  5. Quick update. I paid to have my car serviced as I didn't want to go to far past the 1 year mark and risk the warranty. It was clear that the dealership was not going to accept my arguments/evidence anytime soon, and they don't have anyone senior enough to make a decision. Skoda UK followed up my case and after sending them copies of the website dorfl linked to they agreed that I should have been given a service plan. Today they have managed to get the dealer to admit to them that a mistake was made, saying that my order was not processed/accepted until after the offer had ended. Because the dealer principal is away for a few weeks SUK are waiting for him to return before pushing for a resolution. So big thumbs up for Skoda UK customer services. Hopefully get something sorted out soon.
  6. dorfl you are a legend! this is exactly what I need.
  7. Thanks folks, Back to the dealer for the service tomorrow, will have to fund it myself until this is resolved. I have also raised it with Skoda Customer Services, so hopefully will get something sorted out in the next few days.
  8. Yes thanks. I also have an email from carwow saying to order now before the deal ends. Ideally i need something official from skoda though, like a price list or offer advert. I don't know why I don't have anything myself in writing. Frustrated at the dealer, p***ed off with myself for not having it sorted at the time.
  9. Hi Folks, Ordered my vRS TDi estate 17th December 2013 with 0% PCP and free servicing offer, and collected it on 1st July 2014. Today dropped into the dealer for the 1st service and got a phone call 3 hours later saying my car wasn't on the system as having a service plan, and I would have to pay for the service if i wanted it. I Called VWFS to see what was going on and they also have no record of me having free services, only the finance. Went back to dealer to see what was going on and it seems, to me, they have not registered me for free servicing at the time of collection, and they need proof i was offered/sold it. (Sales guy I used is no longer there too) I don't have any paperwork for it because the paperwork was never done. I was under the impression that VWFS put car on servicing database and send me a letter, but I obviously never received it. The dealer doesn't have any record of the 0%/servicing offer from late 2013, the've asked for old campaign details from Skoda UK but that could take a few days. Does anyone have any paperwork from Skoda UK showing finance/servicing offer from December 2013? Maybe a flyer or advert or something? I think it was part of the '3 big reasons to buy a new skoda' campaign. Google was not much use to me here. Did anyone else receive paperwork at the time of collection regarding free servicing? what am i missing that I should have been given? Car is home now, unserviced. Going back in on Wednesday to try and sort everything out. Cheers!
  10. When my vRS went in to the dealer for a warranty replacement I unplugged my cam. I got it to provide evidence if needed during an accident while I was driving. I have no interest on trying to catch out some mechanic trying to do his job. I know there have been some cases of mistreatment caught on dashcams but If I can't trust the dealer with my motor then who can I trust to repair and service it. Had a chat about the cam to the sales guy who took it in he seemed quite interested in how it worked and how I had already caught someone reversing into me in the street. He knew it was turned off. My car was also returned 50 miles to my home with a 55mpg average and a topped up tank of fuel, so no reason to suspect any mistreatment or to spy on them in future.
  11. Biggest issue is removing the old one, which is plastic-welded to the bumper i believe. Honeycomb has been done on this forum to accident damaged grills, where skoda were quoting for a whole replacment bumper i believe. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/314815-honeycomb-grill-has-finally-arrived/?p=3823406
  12. They weren't even available an option in the UK until recently.
  13. Saw some unexpected northern lights last night when out with the camera, so had to get one with the vRS Please excuse the filthy state of the car. I did give it a proper wash today.
