  1. The Ombudsman Process is exhausting, it really is. It's the delay between submitting anything and then it being picked up, or them picking it up and getting back to you. I suppose it's a great service considering it's free but the time delays are just hell. Anyway. The Ombudsman has been after more evidence on specifics of the case, which I've been happy to submit - I'm awaiting their review of that now to see how this affects my case going forward. I'm feeling positive to be honest. I've covered every base with evidence and clearly explained a full timeline of what's happened - the business in reply have so far submitted one paragraph saying next to nothing, there's no evidence or anything to support their viewpoint which has been provided. On a slight sub note - I figured as they have been trying to supress me forewarning other customers by blocking me on most of their social media sites that It would be prudent to set up a quick area which keeps track of their negative reviews. Nothing hateful or anything like that, just somewhere people can bring complaints to if they've had issues, people can share their own reviews of the dealerships alongside it being a place to forewarn potential customers looking at their reputation assuming it's all positive, when it's clearly not. This isn't to say it's completely bad, it's just when something goes wrong they're really bad at issue resolution as we've all seen with me, and I'm seeing in a growing list of people should you check out their reviews online! Anyway I digress. So I made something to do just that. The Holdcroft Complaints Group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/350057145573612/ I've been tracking their reviews for some time now and just sharing them in there to keep people informed as needs be. The idea came about from advice I'd seen in another group where someone had reported issues with a product from a business and the experts had informed this person to make a group and log what happens because you've a lot more power as a collective than you have on your own. I noticed the other week that the dealer principal of the Cobridge site had left the dealership - so I thought it worth sharing into the group, turns out someone took offence to that and reported the image (see image attached). Well I thought, it's not an offensive post, what I've posted was true and genuine and of my own opinion and that of former staff - so I challenged their decision. Cue Second Image (attached) Justice prevails maybe? They reversed the decision and the post went back up. Cue the more recent image showing the dealer principal in question putting love hearts against my comments - a bit of an odd thing to do if you're claiming you're being bullied? The comment to Ben is to say he's left the firm as Ben is another person who was completely left in the lurch by the company by being sold a broken Type R. Then hey presto - this morning I get another support message saying your post has been taken down again! I suppose it's all somewhat irrelevant but it's worth showcasing what they're like to you guys as potential customers. I'm not getting too hung up on this as I know ultimately it's down to how the ombudsman rules, and they've already admitted the business is in breach of the Motor Ombudsman codes of practice of which the business is signed up to and must uphold. I know some may look at this and think it's a bit petty - but I'm conscious of this happening again to others and them not being in a position to do anything about it, I'm fairly savvy in the way I'll attempt to seek a resolution but others may not be, and if there's a quick way of collating all these reviews to help others I figured it's worth doing. If it helps one person to be more careful in buying, maybe they double check the paperwork or ensure everything is iron clad etc. then I've succeeded
  2. Thanks mate, I'm not alone in it, they've managed to sell an approved used Type R to a customer after it being rejected only ONE day prior citing a gearbox rattle which they then said they would need to investigate, first buyer ran a mile and rather than fix it they put it back out for sale so the second customer brought it and had the same issue. Turned out that had zero warranty either, that even got sold with part of it's manufacturers warranty remaining as it was a 2015 motor and at the time the warranty had a bit left, turns out it was a former performance development motor for Tegiwa tuning and as it was never serviced by Honda plus it was uprated everywhere before being stripped when sold to Holdcroft it voids both the manufacturers warranty alongside the approved used one! Luckily he took it to the financial ombudsman and they ruled in his favour!
  3. Oh mate this wasn't a case of mistaken Identity, It had number plate covers on it saying the word "APPROVED" and it was listed in the advert it was an approved used Honda. When I was going through the purchase process they couldn't say enough how the approved used scheme only picked out the best cars for sale and it had a full Honda UK 12 month warranty for piece of mind. Turned out said warranty wasn't a Honda UK approved used warranty at all because the car was too old to be on the scheme at the time of sale, and they bloody should have known that (I suspect they did) as one of their ex employees now told me the car was sold to me after being rejected by someone else previously!!!
  4. Thanks bud, It's still ongoing now, I had an initial response which I've challenged with another 40+ pages of evidence. Waiting on the ombudsman again now. Should they rule in my favour that's one car done and I need to open a case for the 2nd vehicle as they would only take one at a time! The irony in all this is they've claimed i'm the ONLY person they've ever banned, I've seen a few other people now who have been told the same thing, one being banned for sending their ebay account a question and when he rang they just said well you were blocked for a reason and put the phone down - absolute amateurs they are. Wouldn't know professionalism if it hit them in the face sideways/
  5. I assumed a main dealership knew what they were selling, I hadn't considered the dealership weren't aware of Honda UK's restrictions on what is and isn't approved used haha! If they can't get it right I'm gonna give myself a pass for not spotting it until later on Don't need a solicitor - it's with the ombudsman, that's what this service is for, it allows you to bring a case to them in the same way you would small claims court.
  6. Noooooo, don't think you're quite following this correctly... the car was approved used, sold by a main dealer. As part of it being under the Honda UK approved used program it automatically comes with a FULL 12 months warranty alongside all of the safety checks, FSH etc etc. What actually happened was the car was too old to be part of that scheme and the dealership sold it regardless when in fact it shouldn't have been listed as under the scheme, because it wasn't eligible for the warranty What I found afterwards was they put some kind of 12 months warranty on it but it wasn't the approved used one, it was some kind of listed plan warranty, something that doesn't cover the complete vehicle, only specific parts based on age. I only realised this when I found repairs weren't actually being invoiced to Honda as under warranty, they were being charged to the dealership - again I've no idea where these should or should not be invoiced as ordinarily no one asks the question when buying of who do you invoice for repairs? You can't be expected to read and review every aspect of a sale it's not achievable as I would have had to have known the complete legalities of the approved used scheme, something as a customer you don't look into, if the car's approved used then yay you're buying it because of the piece of mind 12 months warranty gives you and the safety checks, FSH etc etc. This was sold as approved used by a main dealership when it didn't meet the criteria - it was miss sold. The car had a number of faults that were pointed out prior to hand over they didn't bother fixing so I had 6 months worth of constant repairs, the DPF packed up more times than I can count and I proved time and again it was nothing to do with my driving as there was no bloody soot in it!
  7. We purchased two vehicles, 1 was a brand new Civic from factory, and the second was an approved Used Honda Accord (59 plate). The initial post is a paste of what I posted in the other forum and relates to both cars, as the ombudsman wouldn't review both vehicles at the same time I'm having to do one after the other. So the updated comments are in relation to the miss selling of the Honda Accord as an approved used vehicle when in reality it wasn't eligible to be sold as such, had I known it didn't have said 12 months warranty It would have directly affected my decision making and I'd have gone elsewhere, as I wasn't a fan of the previous civic shapes personally, the Accord was the only vehicle on site that caught my eye, and I didn't know they'd been discontinued until looking more in depth into the history.
  8. So, it turns out the Accord, sold as an approved used Honda with associated 12 month warranty, wasn't even eligible to be part of the Approved Used Scheme! 8 year is the limit on age for selling an Approved Used Vehicle, the accord was over this when sold, so it was miss sold from the get go! I've had the 8 years confirmed by a separate non Holdcroft Honda dealership alongside Honda UK. The Accord was also rejected and returned by a previous customer prior to my ownership - highlighting it was a problem car before I had it!
  9. Thanks John - yep, it's with the ombudsman at the minute who have partially upheld my complaint citing HH are in breach of their codes of conduct, something the entire business (all brands under the Holdcroft Motor Group) have signed up to uphold, they were hinting at not being able to rule on certain things without further evidence so they've had a 30+ page document detailing HH's failings in the Honda Accord we purchased (civic is subject to a separate complaint, they wouldn't look at them at the same time, that's on the to do list). Waiting to hear back from them on that Another customer has just had a major win too after being mis-sold a type R that was supposedly approved used, FSH etc. turns out warranties were void as it had never been serviced at Honda in addition to it being business owned, and worse than that (as if that didn't void it enough) it was owned by Tegiwa tuning, a performance development facility who modified the **** out of it and took it on multiple track days, HH denied they did anything wrong to the high hills, however the ombudsman sided with the customer after the car was sold to him following a rejection from a previous buyer only ONE DAY BEFORE!
  10. How much did you get the outer door window seals for bud? Mine have pretty much given up, one squeaks constantly when moving, the other doesn't clean the window in the slightest -_-
  11. They can be as annoyed as they like, if they dropped the ball on filling out paperwork and someone documenting a reason for this not being able to tow, that's their balls up - and as such expect people to ask about it It's probably asked as many times as, why did you make the MK2 vRS a petrol, and look like a MK2 Polo Breadvan? " I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged"
  12. Final response from Skoda's Infoline is: " we only proceed, as our Homologation department inform us. There is important to look at this vehicle, as the whole equipment. Not only chasis. There might be overload of the rear axle, or missing reinforced engine cooling and others components. It is also important for homologation, to look at the specific weight of every car's equipment. This specific car equipment of your vehicle can not be equiped with towing device. That is the last and official answer, from our competent department. There is no way to make it happend for you legally, we are sorry. There is no other statement for this situation. " So this thread want's renaming to vRS Tow Bar - Illegal if anyone would be so kind At least that's that done now unless VW come back with a more detailed response other than - we don't know...
  13. Rear brakes can be improved slightly by fitting calliper springs as the rears are known for sticking. I've put MTEC disks and EBC Greenstuff pads on mine and they've done me well for over 2 years now no issues. Switch packs are notorious for stopping working, people press the switch harder assuming it does something then break the plastic surround - I was going to investigate new switches but you can now buy the boards on ebay much cheaper than getting the switches and swapping things over. Central locking - again, likely that switch pack as mine does it too, I just unlock and lock on the key and use the button for the alarm - you get used to it, it works now and again, oddly enough when it's damp... Never had an issue with my seat belts although they are slowing - I may give the sheen trick a try. Keep an eye on your rear footwells, rear doors leak water in. If you have issues selecting reverse and 1st, see threads on "Shim Mod" There's a thread on here you may want to check out - the really useful mk1 fabia thread or something like that, it's pinned in the guides.
