  1. I came from a ctr which I had for 2-3 years and the only reason for getting rid was a 200 mile per week commute to my work. So fuel cost would have been too high. I used to only do 40 to work and back when I had the civic. Suspension is alot smoother than fabia but depends what size alloys are on your vrs now. And if it lowered. The engine is noisy but not driving normally. Its what makes the car, I had exhaust + cai kit and it sounded great lots of positive comments Anyhow so much so if I find a new job closer i would go back to a ctr or cupra r ive always liked! However ive had the car mapped and fmic fitted so I probably will keep the vrs. Im bored of it already at 188bhp Ctr handles amazing standard and from a standing start they are very quick. Honestly anyone who reckons they beat one in a traffic light gp with a fabia mapped or not the driver must of been turd. As thats where they are quickest I feel. I will admit if you were on motorways you do have to droo down an gear or two to get it to shift on. And that annoyed me now and again. Also road noise is abit harsher than the vrs
  2. It doesnt need to be there no. Unless its a petrol car obviously itll need a sports cat or the standard car replacing back in for the mot. Diesels only need it to pass the initial emissions when the car is built and tested for the tax band co2 and whatnot
  3. They just do a smoke test for dervs...
  4. Darkside developments is good. Got a custom map on pd150 turbo there with fmic fitted. 188bhp 320lb ft torque Excellent customer service explained everything fully and told me numerous options for my car didn't push products on me etc.
  5. Mines been off for about 5 month and heater is still working fine have it on 20-22 now the temps dropped! Was 2 degrees this morning on the car sensor
  6. THS FMIC Darkside pipework kit w/ EGR delete Pd150 turbo Custom remap Stock clutch and dmf 188bhp - 320 lbft
  7. Is that because of the hid kit you need to remove the headlights? Was gonna say I did mine without removing anything just a pair of longnose pliers for the passenger sidelight bulb
  8. Ive used tyres worse than nankangs that were more expensive lol Pirelli p zero for one were truely awful on my fabia
  9. Yeah mate here you go. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=130560630444 They are good and maybe ever so slightly less light output than my Phillips ones but a much cleaner look.. sidelights could do with being ever so slightly brighter but you get them for free anyway!
  10. Whats people's opinions on a decat on a standard exhaust system? And if I got the backbox cut out also is it 'too loud' Would I be able to fit a decat downpipe with a regular exhaust system still in place..? I did have a cat back exhaust on my previous car civic type r ep3 and it was a nice sound but never had one on a diesel so need opinions please on whether people regret having one fitted and gone back to standard etc
  11. Course you can send them back unless you didnt read the product description correctly and it states its 5x112 fitment or for a mk 2 vrs You can just get a PayPal dispute open if they didnt list the item properly and then they'll have to refund postage charges. Obviously only do that if they wont refund willingly, but as stated if youve bought the wrong brakes then thats down to you
  12. Just got my new policy with flux for £629 and cheapest prior to that was £900 from brentacre! All mods covered like for like, only 98 deposit and dont pay for two month at the end of the policy. Add the fact im in a BL Postcode areas which is bad ( used to be in a area b postcode) and am paying less now! Excellent customer service spoke to a guy called grant after being put through via dan on here
  13. Well adrian flux came out top for my renewal. Brentacre wanted 900 a year Flux got me fully comp all mods declared and covered like for like, key cover etc £629 a year! !
  14. I only got rid of my type r due to commuting 200 miles a week to work. Wish id of kept it in a way but it is a totally different car and the cost saving is alot tax and mpg wise! I havent had a go against anything yet other than the new style clio sport 10 plate it was and I left him from 30-40 onwards.
