  1. I will be heading up north tomorrow Warton Aerodrome in Lancs near Lytham Saint Annes, Premier Inn for the week, teach me to volunteer again. Undecided whether to take the works Astra van or the Sportage. The van great around the airfield parking the car all the comforts on the road and quiet, the car will be safer in rain and wind, it would put 3-4 months mileage on it as well. It is a pity you did not get down to Ventnor sea front in this weather as the 'Spyglass Inn' for lunch has the sea just over the wall full of Victorian Naval memorabilia. 2. So you must live very close to me if you mean the new franchise and not Winter's at Havenstreet. I live 150yds from Westridge. I am a wannerbe Yeti man but I think I will hang fire on the Yeti at the moment though the Carfile prices are low and I like the current shape. Due to the works van averaging 9000 miles per year my car does 2000 or so; love the forum.Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 4
  3. £21,111 Car file, http://www.carfile.net/vehicle.php?vehid=48129&type=b I keep looking myself, a few weeks ago there were Adventures on one of the discount sites with good savings as well. I like the present front end and hearty discounts but I only did 1500-1800 (yes that low) miles last year as I have a works van. Still the Sportage is 7 years old next summer so the company may enforce the 7 year old rule for my car allowance. So do I save 11-19% now or perhaps 5% next year. I might go 3 day week next year so more time for driving the car. I can pay cash so 0% finance not important though I'd lose free servicing with a discount dealer. So many imponderables is why I have not made a move. The garage a couple of hundred yards up the road from me is the new Skoda dealer so I see Yetis looking at me every day, mind you the IoW is not noted for discounts hence trip to North Yorks to get my last car. I have had a couple of Berlingos which are great on the Island but in top spec still a bit basic. Still dithering... Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 4
  4. First post I think as my introduction one went astray some weeks ago. Well I have a Kia Sportage 2.0 CRD but as I have just sold the Caravan and we will now go for Cottage holidays combined with having a dog & as my Sister is recently bereaved I will need a Roof box, there is her teenage daughter as well to fit in. The car has only done 32,000 miles in over 6 years (less than 2000 last year due to my works van) but I will either this or next year buy a Yeti (lurking here for a few months), so I need a set of bars to fit the Sportage and then transfer to the Yeti, do these coming up this Thursday hit the mark? http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/SID-EA9E856D-720188E6/www_lidl_uk/hs.xsl/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=6205 I am an ex heavy Engineer (Marine diesel specialist, Steam, Air Conditioning etc) so even with low mileage will have to go diesel, I have not had a Petrol since the 80's. As I get a car allowance I will/may have to change in year 7 anyway. The Sportage has all the toys but is a big bit of kit for the IOW. Off to the last Speedway meeting of the year now.
