Rear Wiper Only Works Once
ChumleyWarner replied to ChumleyWarner's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Cheers for the reply mate. Previously, when pushed all the way through its travel in order to squirt the washer, it did the wiper 3 to 4 times after. Now it just does it once. The bloody thing. I'll have a look at cleaning the contacts and see if that solves it. Thanks again, CW 👍 -
Evening folks. Just a quick one regarding my 2005 Octavia estate. I've had all the usual issues with the rear wiper and washer jet but the cars developed a new one that's very odd. When I put the back washer on, the car used to do the usual 3 or 4 passes with the back wiper then stop. Now when I do it, it only does 1 pass then stops. I have to, annoyingly, manually flip the stalk every time I want it to go. Odd one that I can't find any info on. Any ideas? Thanks

Monte Tech - Steering Creak
ChumleyWarner replied to ChumleyWarner's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Hi Guys Thought Id bring this up as its turned out to be a serious (ish) issue. Had the Monte in for its first service last week and pointed this out to the technician. He said it was the inner steering rack joints that had worn due to the fact that Skoda forgot to grease them at the factory. Had them replaced and its stopped. Parts £480 and 3.5 hours labour but done under warranty. There was a bloke with a Monte on French plates having the same thing done too. Not really impressed with this as the guy said a lot had done it. Mrs Chumley Warner wouldnt have noticed this and itd probably gone unnoticed until after the warranty expired. To be fair, youd get it done outside if its a problem from the start. Fitness for purpose, etc. Just thought a heads up would be good as Ive spoken to a few people whove noticed it but not been bothered to get it looked at. As an aside, Hortons Skoda in Lincoln have been bang on with the car, etc. And the 60th Anniversary day last weekend was a right laugh. Even got a Skoda water bottle for nowt Cheers, CW -
Afternoon Folks Quick question regarding my steering. Had my Monte for 3 months now, bang on little car. However, over the last week its developed a creaking/rubbing noise coming from behind the steering wheel when turning the wheel clockwise. Doesnt do it the other way. Very odd sound that Ive never heard on a car before. It sounds no more than a foot away from the steering wheel into the dash. Its not a heavy mechanical sound. I thought it might be the gator rubbing but cant see it to check. Anyone else experienced this? Any help is appreciated before I take it back to the dealer. Cheers, CW

Fuel Filler Cap - Problem Removing ?/
ChumleyWarner replied to jcm's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
The other 2 times it was used Ive locked it. I belive the door doesnt lock with the central locking and Im not keen on someone getting access to the tank. I imagine the local kids will eventually realise and fill it with stones or soil or some detritus. -

I will add however that this was only the 3rd time weve ever opened it. Still, I never had an issue and I did the 1st 2. -

Just had to check the forum for my missus who was shouting at me over the phone in a petrol station being unable to get the cap off Ive done it fine on every occasion but it seems its beyond her capabilities. Couldnt even tell her how to do it over the phone. Ended up asking the owner of a 13 plate Mini to help who was shocked at the Fabia system. Still, better a Fabia than one of them. Thought there was noting wrong with the systems on the old VAG cars. Central locking + lock free cap. Is this the same on all new ones? Skoda, VW, etc? Now, where was I... -
Meteor Grey - the picture thread
ChumleyWarner replied to multiskoda's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Exactly George, the standard of the paint on mine isnt great, the ones on the Reaction were, in my opinion, worse. The glossy look I remember them having reminded me of something Ive seen on many a boy racer Corsa. If they are finished off the same as the Trinity and Black Gigaro, it doesnt look as good. The style of the wheel was also not to my taste. When compared to others Ive seen in the range, Silver, White and Black, I didnt think they were as good. Just my opinion though. Hope that makes more sense. -
Fabia Monte Carlo - Missing Bolts?
ChumleyWarner replied to ChumleyWarner's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Excellent, cheers guys. Thought theyd left them off. I might have a look on ebay for the plugs as it looks a bit daft tbh. Reminds me of the missing damping springs in the handles on the roof. -
Piceked up my Monte last week with whichever alloys the TECH gets and they look the same, like someones masked off the tyres and sprayed Black paint on the fronts. A bit crap to be honest but the brake dust and filth has hidden the issue.

Evening Folks I noticed earlier that there are holes next to the B Pillar on the car. There are 4 in total, one above every door. They are threaded and look like they should have bolts in. Am i being daft or am I right? Could anyone have a look at theirs? See pic below to have a look at what I mean. Its the Red hole on the Black bit. Cheers

To be honest, i wasnt a fan of the look of the wheels and also the glossy finish reminded me of a set of Halfords finest. Dosent compare to the allyos on the other Furbys. I did think that it was a lot of car for the money though. Although no leccy mirrors? Please, Id rather walk! -

Saw the Meteor Grey Fabia Reaction at Hortons in Lincoln today. It looked like primer. Really not impressed. Alloys arent great either. Get a Monte in Red. -
Looks bang on. How long were you at it?
