  1. More likely have about the same knowledge as yourself but my understanding is that it can be used to clean the residue of the last wax coat when it needs replenishing. So as wax is on top (qd being excepted) it would be used first - after wash process, of course. I cannot remember the dilution rate but it is on here somewhere and I have made up a solution in a redundant spray bottle which is simple sprayed on and wiped off. But I would await confirmation or denial from higher authorities.
  2. Although I wrote this based on the SE Plus it should provide a fair starter to the menu system etc: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/294538-maxi-dot-menus/

    Buy & sell

No. - Competing with online brokers and the usual driving off the forecourt high percentage devaluation effect hardly worth the effort - put your money in bank at 0.5% instead.
  4. Sorry for lack of response - yes I have found the code but alas expiry date April 14 but as some more efficient members have confirmed the current code I'm not feeling so bad about my tardiness. As for feet only - I know not but they have been prompt with email queries in the past. Peter
  5. I think the lidl ones will be a little short - will fit but at their limits - Mick'sGarage on web (cheaper direct rather than ebay but worth checking both) do the next size up. I bought these also as an infrequent user - set them up and then packed them away. Yesterday I spent a frustrating half hour fitting them, exacerbated by my determination when first setting them up to cut and fit the wind whistle prevention channels far too accurately - so much so I have now super glued (with care) the receiving nuts in position in the receiving bracket, - this cured my frustration and for the occasional user I am more than happy with them. If this is of interest - I know I have a 10% discount code for Mick's Garage which I think is still valid which I am sure with a little effort I can find and post. Peter
  6. Good time to switch the wheels round - could save a few bob in tyre wear.
  7. Re- confusion 1 - spare wheel makes the boot floor level with the sill. It does take up boot space obviously but to my mind worth the sacrifice especially considering the versatility of the back seat configurations for extending stowing. I would have no apprehension of asking about fitting dog crate, but would take a tape measure armed with dimensions on first visit as this would sort out whether it was worth asking. Regarding tow bar - as far as I am concerned this is a no brainer - if you have any thoughts of requiring a towbar go for the fully fitted option from new. You will be hard pushed to beat the price (high as it is) as a post fit and it avoids worries with electrics link ups and warrantee. The towbar prep is a halfway house which will save you some money if post installed but not enough to cover its cost - in my opinion not worth considering. The silly prices quoted for post tow bar installation (900 is at higher end) are not unusual - remember it requires wiring up to main loom and programming in to inform you re-lights and negotiate with rear sensors so not just a bracket and ball. I have both spare wheel and tow bar and regret neither.
  8. Totally agree - you paid for a new car you should expect it to behave like a new car - squeaks and rattles can be not only annoying but also distracting. Get them to sort it, it would be soul destroying if the distraction causes a far worse scenario for the car but more importantly for you and yours.
  9. For what it is worth I cut the thread (and carefully removed all traces) on the obvious sewn end and turned my dooka pad into a mitt. I must admit my main motivation was so that I could turn it inside out for drying but as such it works fine as a mitt or pad.
  10. Assuming this is first cut on the surface the orange pad and 105 on sound paint work should give little cause for concern. Prime pad well and keep it on the move with firm but not excessive pressure working small sections at a time.
  11. I should have looked harder - thank you for these links makes me feel more than justified in having concerns - will do something about it right now.
  12. Many thanks will get to it with tape today, super glue will stay in the fridge!
  13. I haven't lost them yet, by accident or design, and by the lack of mention (as far as my searches in this forum went) it appears they stay put, but I am concerned about the ease at which the end caps can be removed from the roof rails (NOT the roof bars - the factory fitted rails). Then when replaced the fit is far from ideal which gave the impression that it was not correctly fitted but checking with all the others it appears to match their lack of fit. A dab of super glue would overcome the problem but the law of the sod might well intervene with the need to get to the rail bolts (although I cannot foresee such a circumstance). Wondered whether anyone with a little more experience compared with my meagre 4 months worth has any advice.
