I found the headlight aims tended to be set a bit too low from factory, which would show up at MOT time. Another possibility is the lens getting sun damaged. Do the headlights look a bit cloudy?

Fuel filter isn't a replacement item on any service on petrol engines.

My money is on it being the HT lead

Not the easiest job in the world. If it's a 4x4 Yeti the steering rack and subframe need to be removed completely, along with a driveshaft and a cup out of the transfer box. Then you can get the DPF out to get onto the EGR. 2wd Yeti you can just lower the subframe down, no need to remove it.

Wheres the oil filter? - 2.0TDI VRS Mk3

You have to remove the undertray and access it from underneath. Bit of a messy job though! -
On the 1.6 FSI you'll have the air con condensor at the front and behind that the coolant radiator. Neither system mixes with each other. If you've got a water leak, usually of a pink coloured water, it could be from the coolant radiator. You're not going to see any fluid leaking out of the air con condensor. Neither being faulty will bring a light up on the dash, unless all the coolant has leaked out and dropped below the minimum level. The low coolant warning light ( a red thermometer) would be shown at that point. Hope that helps?

Pollen filter lives under the glove box on the passenger side. I find it easier to get at by lying on my back in the footwell. Takes all of 30seconds to replace

They have to assume it's alright as they can't see it to test it. If you were to remove every item that is restricting access to a testable item you'd be there forever and a day! The under body covers prevent being able to see parts of the fuel + brake lines and any chassis corrosion. If you can't see it's goosed on a test, you can't fail it on the basis that it might not be ok. If that was the case a car would never get passed on the "what if" something is wrong scenario.

DSG Recall (sorry...service campaign)
DanSej6 replied to DadWagon's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Wasn't able to get the TPI number while I was in hospital. On the system they want to be looking for "Vibrations of the K2 clutch" The TPI number is 2028367 -

I've not had the issue as I can't afford such a car, but I've fixed a good few of them. The problem lies with the clutch packs, there is a Technical Product Information item on them that dealers can see by checking. I think the correct title of it is "vibration from the K2 clutch" or something along those lines. I'd get it back to your dealer and ask them about it as it's covered under warranty. If I remember I can get the exact TPI number to give you more ammo to go at them with but it really shouldnt be required. -

Is the judder usually when the box has just shifted into 2nd gear and you've got a little bit of throttle on? And is it usually worse/more evident when you've got extra weight in the car or turning out of a junction? -
Probably because when you change oil, you normally change a filter too

Transport wax on new cars?
DanSej6 replied to tigermad's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Yup, thats the only place wax is applied. But it's supposed to be there and I wouldn't go removing. -

There's no wax applied to the painted bodywork, just the underside of it. The top half on the bodywork comes wrapped in a white plastic stuff and thats about it. -
1.6cr TDI EGR issues help....
DanSej6 replied to 4743hudsonj's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
How old is the car, how many miles? I.e. How far is it out of manufacturer's warranty? Skoda are usually pretty decent with EGR replacements on the 1.6CRTDi engines, there's also a software update to prevent it from reoccuring again too. For the work involved to remove it, it's best just to replace it that try to clean it. I've taken one apart before and it's not the best design imo. Internal structure is very easily clogged up
