I had a company car for over 30 years and never owned a car during that time. When I retired and bought my first Skoda I got a letter from my company stating I hadn't had an accident for 7 years which was as far as they kept records. Some insurers were happy with this and some would not accept it. I went with LV who took my word for it and said they would only want to see the letter in the case of a claim. I suggest you you both get no claims proof from your existing insurers when you end your policies, these plus a letter from the NHS car scheme administrators, hopefully saying you have had no accidents, should provide useful when you are seeking a policy.

Since 2009 I have had four Skodas two were treated (for free) by the dealer and two were not. Other than the cleaning kit in the boot I couldn't tell the difference. In conclusion if it was free I would have it but I would not pay for it. It has never been mentioned at part exchange time.

Should i buy Monte Carlo or not...
Keitht replied to SoISC1's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
I agree the lack of one touch windows annoys me every time I use them. And the SEL doesn't have electric rears as standard, nor sunset glass. My special edition (run out model) Roomster had both of these plus the glass roof and metallic paint all for 10k! These four items would cost almost £1500 to add to even the highest spec Fabia. Mind I do like the 110 tsi and the six speed box........ -
I have just changed mine today, on the only remote I use, at 11 months. I was going to moan at the dealer when the car goes in for service at the end of the month, but I don't think I will bother now. If the key is at fault it should be replaced under warranty, convincing the dealer there is a problem might be an issue!

Cruise control on SE - retro fit.

Additionally, post #9 says the kit is not compatible with Fabias fitted with a speed limiter, which is standard on UK SE and above models. -

Why don't you get her to treat the gate and decking before giving her the ironing board? -
Chuffin' Dishwashers packed in..................

Had the same water retention problem with my son's Bosch dishwasher the solution was to remove it and give it a really good violent shake, fixed it and has been working fine for the last 18 months. I bet I have jinked it now! Anyway, worth a go, as it didn't cost owt!! -
Home Automation - Anyone got a good system

But how do you stop the feedback and the interference from nearby similar systems? -
There are several on eBay for £10 or less.......

High pitched sound from the engine
Keitht replied to jon15's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
Sorry, I saw the service bulletin, but didn't get the reference. I assume they just changed the hose, certainly a smooth one is fitted now and, so far, it seems to have cured the noise. But I checked a new car in the showroom and that still had the old hose fitted, so perhaps they are using up old stocks and only changing them when the customer complains? -

I had mine replaced yesterday as well, too early to tell if it is now cured. Dealer said there was a service bulletin out on this so there should not be an issue if anybody wants this changed. -
Another vote for Richard Sounds, they have the same Panasonic for the same price with the extra year of warranty. Additionally your home contents insurance may well cover accidental damage to your tv (even if you don't have accidental cover on the rest of your contents) so you may be able to save the £20.

jon15, It does seem a bit like your first recording. I have found your thread and will do some more checking with the throttle setting and see if I have the corregated hose before involving the dealer. Thanks for your help.

Does anybody else get a faint intermittent electronic noise (a bit like the old dial up modem sound, or sometimes like a phone ringing) when driving their Mk III? Other people have heard it at the same time as me, just to prove I am not imagining it.
