  1. I really don't know why so many people are trying to find out at this stage whether their engine is affected by this issue. Frankly, as far as I am concerned, as we have been informed it is not a safety problem and if it is affected will be recalled and sorted out, end of! I have been totally satisfied with my Yeti and remain so.
  2. Thank you all my mind is now at rest. Linda
  3. Hi Guys, I haven't posted for ages, I pop in every now and then but we have been so happy my Yeti and me, no questions! recently had my first variable service at 20.000 miles. I instructed Skoda garage to keep it on variable as has been so happy and they agreed. The interval isn't coming up and when I queried it the service tech said it can take several hundred miles to 'read' the oil. Now, I am puzzled because I am fairly sure that when I took del of my brand new Yeti with 5 miles on the clock , the display was showing. Can one of you lovely people who helped me so much when I was new to Yeti ownership, tell me if this is correct or am I being spun a yarn? Just had new Kumho tyres on front so OE Continentals have done quite well. Will be putting Kumho winters on end Oct. This car hasn't put a foot wrong and I am still as pleased with it now as I was in the beginning.
  4. I have been away two weeks and have seen more Yeti's than I have ever seen! A week in Northumberland and a week in Dumfries and Galloway including the Rhins. Coming back down the M6, at one point there was a trio of us, side by side in each lane. Longest trip I have enjoyed so far with mine 2000 miles.
  5. Well, that didn't last long! Just over two months down the line and it's happened again on the same road- mud and debris from a farm on fast A road, guy speeding past, BANG! size of 1pence piece about 6" up on left of passenger side. Large stone whizzed across the car and luckily hit that bit and not right in my sightline. Wish I could avoid the road but unfortunately my only route home from town, without miles of detour (it's already 25 miles)- mind at this rate it may start being more economic! I am going on three week trip next week to Northumberland and The Rhins of Galloway, if it doesn't crack I am leaving it until I get back! The way this going it will only happen up there too! My poor Yeti screen seems to be jinxed, only ever lost one screen before and that was 15 years ago. :(
  6. I have owned my nice new red Yeti since the beginning of Nov 2013 and I am just as pleased with the car now as I was on collection day. It suits my needs perfectly. I do a mixture of country miles on both local A roads and moorland lanes and 500 mile motorway trips every 6 weeks or so. My local journeys are generally 10-25 mile round trips, often longer, several times a week. I expect to do around 14 or 15000 miles a year. My car is on variable servicing and on collection it showed service due in 18,000 miles, after 5000 miles it now says 14000 and has obviously been reducing as I add more mileage. Can I assume that since technically it is now saying service 19000 miles from new, that I have a happy Yeti? Incidentally, I haven't added a drop of oil or water yet as both are still at the top of their levels.
  7. Mine was done yesterday also complete with new black trims, perfect job executed by the same nice man who did the repair. Well done to Autoglass, I can't tell the difference from the original! Really pleased.
  8. Sorry to hear that Andyspan- hopefully from what most people have said it usually goes ok. Really hope so. Guess what?! My repair has split into 2" crack today must be the frost has affected it I suppose. Autoglass said if it goes in the same place up to a year I will get the replacement F.O.C. which is some consolation. Still a bit fed up about it though. Will contact them on Monday.
  9. I would worry about warranty issues as well as safety ones- going through deep puddling is a bit different to very deep water.
  10. I can't comment on the brokers you mention, but I can say that Carfile are very good and offer competitive discounts. I bought mine 3 months ago via them and I like their system. Basically they are really 'introducers' they have dealers whom they put you in touch with and from then on all your business is conducted with the dealer, including paying your deposit. You do not pay anything to Carfile. When I was doing my research, there were brokers online who had very short histories in the business and you paid the deposit to them.......? Buyer beware. Carfile have a long history and seem well respected in the industry. My 2wd Yeti is doing very well on flooded roads, but wouldn't take it through 12" +. I think that would be pushing the boat out a bit personally!
  11. I drove up to Essex from Exmoor yesterday and it was me, a Golden retriever in the boot and the car loaded to the gunnels with dog luggage (big bed, food for 10 days, towels, toys etc) my luggage and presents and Christmas foods. no spare space. M5 and M4 70mph 54-55mph Essex bit of M25 and A12 max mph 57. Well pleased!

    Xmas

I second Wiganyeti's sentiments. Very grateful to helpful forum members- have to admit when I log on- this is now my first port of call A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all. Linda
  13. I have only been driving my 110bhp since the end of October, currently 1800 miles. I have stalled it twice, both times it was coming to a RAB. I don't think it is quite so forgiving if the speed drops a bit low for the gear I am in. Having been used to a 1.6 petrol, I have just assumed it is my inexperience with this engine. I now make sure I drop down a gear a little earlier and the car seems to be happier with me!
  14. I too am really sorry to hear you are feeling below par Graham, I hope you are able to have your op soon and you make a good recovery. Hope you are able to enjoy Christmas, with best wishes for a pain free New Year. Take care, Linda
