Mine is a 2010 sitting at 117k at the moment. I do nearly 20k a year. Since the beginning of the year it has had Exhaust gas pressure sensor £280 at indy Variable service and dsg oil change at dealer £380 Rear wheel heat shields £150 at indy Camshaft position sensor at dealer £550 took 8 days Currently in the dealer for replacement turbo pressure actuator approx £450. Has been in for 9 days so far. I got the cambelt and water pump done last year and was £280 at indy Had been reliable until just under 6 years old. Will probably keep it for at least another 6 months

My Bolero unit has developed a fault as it keeps switching itself off and on. You can hear the power relay clicking when doing so. The dealer thinks it could need a replacement power button. I have been looking at maybe getting an Amundsen to replace it. Would this just be a matter of taking off the fascia and replacing the unit? Do the plugs at the back have the same connectors? What is the best GPS aerial as a replacement? Thanks.

Very easy to fit. Follow the instructions above and you will be fine. I had to do mine after a stone smashed the driver side. My screws had a hex head.

My 2010 vRS dsg has bluetooth fitted as standard along with maxidot so the module should be under the seat. Did you try to pair your phone with the module?

I had my 2010 Octavia vRS serviced on Monday and was charged £180 plus £39 for MOT. Also had a courtesy Fabia Greenline for no extra cost. -
VRS CR 18" Tyres best choice?
aidanthomson replied to aidanthomson's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Decided to go with the Goodyears which are being fitted now on Wednesday. Hopefully will get good mileage out of them. The Continentals have worn pretty good for the last 8 months that I've owned the car. Prices are so much cheaper for this size than the 18"s that were fitted to my previous Volvo V50 -
Looking for opinions on the best tyres for a VRS CR. 2 fronts are close to legal limit but now driver's side has a bulge after hitting a pot hole. Have MOT in 2 weeks. Currently has Continentals on the front which were on when purchased.

If coming from an R Design D5 then you would want the VRS. It also rides a lot better than the R Design on 18s. You will also notice it is a lot bigger inside than the C30 especially in the front. I had a V50 D5 R Design before it was written off and the VRS is a lot bigger inside. The V50 struggled at times with a pram in the boot and luggage which the Octavia seems to eat easily with plenty of room to spare. I went with the VRS CR DSG estate as I preferred the look of the estate rather than the 5 door. I also have found the insurance being slightly cheaper.

I've just got my renewal in from LV. Only had my VRS for a month after my Volvo V50 D5 was written off. Was quoted £276 per year with the claim from July on it. Wife has her Rav4 T180 with LV as well and pays £300. Sometimes it is best to look around as when I changed my Peugeot 407SW for the Volvo insurance quote shot up from £300 to £700 with Swiftcover. It seems that some companies are fine with certain cars and not so with others. Would be worth looking at comparethemarket.com or confused.com. Might save a bit.

iPhone 5 compatability

It is a March 2010 registration so may be the older unit. I looked in the phone menu but couldn't find anywhere to delete previous pairings. It just gives me the choice of scan devices or connect. This then looks for a Blackberry 6900. I will check with my local dealer about either the firmware or getting a new bluetooth unit fitted.
