  1. Please people, do not entertain this frankly stupid post anymore!
  2. I can pretty much bet the two Diesel engines will be the current 1.6 & 2.0 150hp. They won't put the 184 hp engine in it as this is exclusive to the VRS model. The VRS is skoda's 'sport' model with the higher powered unit. Why would they lose this by putting it in the 4x4 clad version. Doesn't make sense. Watch this space.
  3. Seriously! I'm going to start a new topic tilted 'I find it hard to open my glove box'. There is nothing wrong with your car! Please don't waste your dealers time in this.
  4. I regularly get 58mpg (computer) average on my journeys to and from work. 22 miles of A roads and a motorway stretch. Last full tank of fuel cost me £55 and got approx 510 miles out if it. Fuel economy is massively down to the way you drive the car and the cold conditions. I think when summer hits mine will easily reach the projected 67 mpg average on the 2.0 TDi 150
  5. Yeah you guys are right. I haven't taken mine down to 0 miles range but the last time I filled up the light came on showing 40 miles range left. I only managed 41 litres in the tank to the brim. £45 ish! Got over 500 range out of that.
  6. This hasn't got something to do with the hill hold tech has it. I know that lasts 2 seconds??
  7. New Octy 3 Elegance estate 2.0 TDi 150. This was the average read out
  8. Firstly, no I'm not sure what the speaker sizes are. Having had this same car now for two weeks and listens to the radio/music a fair bit I can honestly say that the standard sound system is more than good enough. I'm sure that the Canton is better as it would be an expensive option to add but realistically are you really going to tell that much difference?? Save yourself some money and just tweak the bass, miss and highs setting on the screen and I'm sure you'll find it's more than ample for your needs!
  9. He he. Just a silly topic really but just wanted to brag about my first longer (2.5 hr) journey a few days ago. Stuck the car into Eco mode. Stayed at no more than 65mph all the way and got the Mpg read out up to 68.9!! Not bad to say the car had only done 500 miles from new. Come the summer and warmer months I think the car will easily reach the brochure posted 74mpg on a long run.
  10. Have to disagree with you regarding the main beam assistant. Mine works perfectly and is a fine addition to the car! Give it a chance and you'll see how much of a convenience it is!
  11. A tip: Your car already has a VRS badge on it that people can see. Why not buy a plate that has your initials on it which is actually personal to you and one that you an put on to another car in the future!!
  12. Please may I request your assistance. I was out playing with the rear seats and putting them up and down today. I fiddled with the rear seat head rests and noted that the outer ones you can extend upwards but that these didn't come out entirely. When I came to fiddling with the centre seat head rest I noted that it only extended upwards by a couple of inches and again, doesn't come out. Can I ask that people check this in their new Octy 3's also as a comparison, particularly the centre one. Should mine being extending higher than 2 inches? Thanks all
  13. This is a good thread. Something to get your teeth in to. :-) There is no disputing that BMW's are good cars and I'm pretty sure that if we all had 32k to spend on a motor without financial worry then more if us might have at least walked into a BMW dealer and considered a test drive followed by a hand shake. BUT. I would like to think that the majority if Skoda owners don't have that sort of money to throw away and the reality is that the new Octy offers everything a BMW has and does it equally as well. If you are fussy then there may be comments about handling and build quality. However, I can honestly say that driving the new Octy feels like quality and reliability. I am actually quite proud to be driving a top spec Elegance knowing it's cost 24k. Skoda is teaching other cars and manufacturers a lesson in how to build a good car for a good price without a bad word to say about it.
  14. You will love it! Had mine 3 days now and it's fab!
