Low frequency 'boom' in cabin
buitrictor replied to DaveBarr's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
You are right...I did the same test. The only problem is excessive seal that produces the tailgate. When you close the door and you're in, it is clear that however much they seek solutions other hand, what you need to solve is the pressure. I think only work the gate change tires for a finer. It has cost me much effort the foreman of vw understood the problem, but when it did, immediately after the adjusted closing the tailgate. the door made the adjustment in a higher position. Now the noise has been reduced by approximately 40%. I think now the next step that can only come from Skoda. I think the only thing that can solve this problem is to provide a rubber boot setting that has a less sharp adjustment. Another solution could be a different hinges of the gate or a different close.- 1,541 replies

I have a question for all... Your car takes normal or sport suspension? I'm willing to change my sport suspension for a bilstein B12. I know the sound is not going to completely remove, but I'm pretty sure that the springs and dumpers are too much abrupt and do not do their job well.- 1,541 replies

Hello. I wrote about this a few months ago and was surprised that no one said anything about it. In my case (and I rarely seem that all was not well with) the problem of noise is removed when not tightly close the tailgate. I know it's not a solution, but so many forsake seek a solution by other car sites. I think it is a design problem and no solution.- 1,541 replies

Hello. The best brand I've managed to get my usual route to work (55 miles) has been 88.28 MPG with 48 MPH) . Today I had a little tailwind, but it was not strong . On this tour I usually get 77 MPG and 51 MPH (always with the waste of time to get the car out of the garage and look for parking on arrival), but today I have been especially careful with the throttle and also it shows that there are more temperature in the street and before the engine warms up . These stockings get them to go to work. Normally I work around more quickly and I get 65 MPG. In my leisure time, the average rises to 61 MPG, and the total average consumption was about 69 MPG. This has been so since I changed the wheels for a ultra light and measure 205 55 16. My engine is the 2.0 tdi 150. It was a big decision, as do many annual miles and savings with these new tires compared to the initial 18-inch is about 0.3 gallons per 100 miles. The onboard computer usually mark 0,026 gallons more than real. Here I upload some photos today. Excuse me, but are in Spanish. If I continue this mean, I can get 888 miles. That would be my personal record. Since start Since tankfull

Low frequency 'boom' in cabin

hi all. I have this problem and I reported yesterday my Skoda dealer in Spain. In my case, and thanks to a Briskoda user, I found that the problem is removed when you close the tailgate wrong. Therefore, it is clearly a bad design of it, and I would seem odd that a different suspension solve it. My dealer had another customer who complains about the noise, but they did not know it was due. Now when I indicate it, have been more relaxed and will report these cases to Skoda Spain. I hope we get a solution, but I see quite complicated. In my case, only occasionally circle for some cobbled street, but if I had to do it often, I would have to demand an immediate solution, because when you circulate on cobblestones, the sound is unbearable. Driving with the trunk without closing the rule of all time XD- 1,541 replies

Lightest OEM 17" rims?
buitrictor replied to Genoa1893's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Hi! I recently changed the originals Golus (11,5 kgs) for a Mercedes Benz wheels named "Toliman" in 16". This wheels weight are only 5,9 kgs. My car is an elegance tdi 150cv, but now looks like a VRS. Has greatly improved its response and significantly lowered the consumption. -

I have the same problem with sport suspension. Others have written in this forum about the discomfort of the suspension, and I think like you who is more annoying sound linked to the suspension- 1,541 replies
