  1. It certainly is a beast and great colour too. Enjoy!
  2. Did a long journey back from the dealer yesterday and very impressed with it. Missing a few toys compared to the Superb but on the flipside I gain a few as well. It was slightly firmer than I expected but then I checked the tyre pressures and up to nearly 40psi all round! Reduced to what they should have been and its as comfortable and smooth as I had hoped. Only slight criticism is the gearbox. It is 9 speed and very smooth and you don't feel any shifting beyond third however, it holds D1 and D2 for too long (have tried the different drive modes) unless you're very gentle with the throttle. I'll get used to it though as its obviously going to be a little different from the dual clutch set up in Superb. Refinement is very good and seats are comfortable. The usual issue with lumbar support being an option (doesn't have it) on all these cars although I never really adjusted it too much on the Superb. Would be nice to have it but luckily the seats are very supportive without it. I reckon fuel economy will be the same, or marginally better, than the Superb.
  3. Thanks. Yes, I'll definitely keep you posted. I'm sacrificing some spec like ventilated seats and heated steering wheel etc but that's the trade-off when not ordering from factory. Comfort is number one for me as I do hours at a time in the car. Even went with a model with 17" wheels for extra comfort.
  4. Don't have a choice with diesel as my journeys just don't suit petrol/hybrid/electric but would love a non-diesel if it was practical. The 280 is some car
  5. After four Octavias and three Superbs from 2001 to present, I've finally decided to make the move. I do high mileage (40-50k kms a year) and one of the reasons is due to the increasing cost to change each time. Also, over the last few years the cost to change has been narrowing between Skoda and some of the other brands. Having said that, I have very few, if any, negative things to see about the brand and have had many happy years motoring over the last 18 years. I think I estimate I've driven somewhere in the region of 800k kms over that period with no major issues to speak of. I would highly recommend the Superb in particular and think it is one of the best all round cars on sale. Also, any dealers I've dealt with have been excellent. I put up 120k kms on my 2017 Superb and a bit sad to see it go today. Picking up a year old E220d SE tomorrow, so on to a new chapter and as somebody who is really into cars, I'm looking forward to something different. Got a good deal on an ex-Mercedes UK car (import to Ireland) with very low mileage and so works out a good few grand cheaper than other new Superb. While I might be changing from Skoda, I certainly won't be leaving Briskoda and I'll be sticking around here! Also, my wife has an Octavia and other family members have Skodas too so will still have a keen interest and remain a huge fan!
  6. I've had three Superbs with cream interior. Last one with ventilated front seats as well. Not as difficult to keep clean as you might think. It cleans very well and actually shows up marks much less than black IMO. I was never a fan of the dark interiors anyway. Much brighter inside as well.
  7. Welcome. Black with cream is a nice combo
  8. Welcome and enjoy the Superb. L&K is a great spec
  9. Welcome to the forum. I think you've made a good choice there. Will tick all the boxes for space and comfort
  10. Welcome. The V6 was a great car. Sadly no more to be seen in newer Superbs
