  1. Does it support Canton? I know that the Alpine unit does via an adapter they have made. This is however much better..the Alpine unit can feel a bit sluggish.
  2. OBD11 does keep track of the coding you do. My does, i can always revert back so don't know why the OP can't. Infact it tracks ALL changes made and it's easily accesable listed by controller...you can even have it emailed to you if you so desire.
  3. There are multiple companies fitting factory Columbus systems(both MIB1 and MIB2) here in Denmark. The other company is VagStyle, they don't have a webpage as such but are present on Facebook instead where they post images of their work and respond to messages. https://www.facebook.com/vagstyle/ CarTrends and VagStyle are situated in different parts of the country, i've personally used CarTrends to have him fit a factory/Original towbar on my Octavia, and he did a stellar job Next on my list is the Columbus While i was in he had a brand new Polo 6C(driven 8km, still in transport mode) a dealer had delivered to him for fitting of parking sensors back and front(of course original with Park-Assist). And a brand new Octavia that was in for an upgrade from Bolero + Canton to Columbus MIB2 + Canton
  4. I had the electronic oil level gauge in my Alfa 159, and i loved it. Never touched the dipstick. I agree with you all, the dipstick on the Skoda is almost useless...
  5. This is because one of your sensors is defective. I had this issue when i had my rear-bumper removed and a new fitted(due to traffic accident) and they forgot to correctly attach the rear-parking sensor. I attached my VCDS and it showed a short-circuit on the rear-left parking sensor, went back to dealer who re-fitted it and been fine since. Loud beep and flashing "P" on the console is also described in the manual as a p-sensor fault. If you have somebody around you that has VCDS make them attach it and do a scan of the parking module when the error occurs. Skoda/VW are quite bad at diagnosing stuff(or just don't want to?) often saying "no error has been logged" as they did with a friend of mine, but when I did a VCDS scan it showed lots of erros and with the transcript in hand they suddenly changed their position..
  6. The ones being fittet here are these ones: http://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/navigation-parts/navigation-head-unit-dynavin-for-skoda/ And they are delivered with iGO navigation i believe
  7. Its about 300£ but..i must admit that the response in Denmark hasn't been stellar. The system is dated and as I've said runs windows CE..which by nature is crap..But I guess its better then nothing, however it is MILES behind the original Amundsen and particularly Columbus. It supports English and the maps are updatable.
  8. I'm fine with that. What they could do for leigitimate owners is, remove CP and install the new HU coding it and ordering the new license from the factory and effectively parring it with the car, afterwards re-enable the CP...that would be ok too. But the factory doesn't want to and at the moment only Audi offers this in Denmark at least. It's not that it isn't possible to do(think replacement warranty units) but they just don't want to do it for swapping from Bolero to Columbus/Amundsen etc.
  9. Well I have or rather, some of the more knowledgeable people on the subject in Denmark have put out feelers through unofficial channels(VAG importer Semler). So far they have been told that they are contemplating(VAG AG the parent company) allowing aftermarket retrofitting on VW cars from 2015 and for some reason only for MY15+ cars. Oh well..maybe some day perhaps :-) The biggest problem is that because cars are taxed by 180% taxes and 25% vat on import to Denmark, the factory build Columbus option is approx 30.000 KR(or about 4000£ I believe). But the same tax doesn't apply to aftermarket units as they are considered spare parts..so I could shave it down to a fraction of the price, even if bought through Skoda and not eBay.
  10. One would think they would be interested in the more sale. I guess that for Skoda they could potentially earn more selling it after it was build then during the build. Every other industry sells licenses(even Microsoft let's you upgrade your Windows license and isn't forcing you to fork out for a complete new one) if you wish to change windows versions ;-) Why can't or won't Skoda, what are they afraid of?
  11. I should mention that the solution is sanctioned by Skoda Denmark and isn't invalidating the manufacturer guarantee of the unit.
  12. In Denmark you can buy a third party windows CE navigation solution that is plugged into the bolero in a similar fashion. Usually placed behind the touchscreen. The manufacturer is Dynavin but could also be a zenec unit. Long pressing one of the Bolero buttons takes you to the nav...which is horrible and could well explain what you have experienced.
  13. Quick google search for p/n revealed a Polish site, and using Google translate: "ETKA online helped me find a place, cap fall out from the side of the sofa, ie. as we shall support it on its side near the bottom part is the cap." Sofa = back-seats probably ;-) Original link: http://forum.octaviaclub.pl/viewtopic.php?t=79924
  14. I have a Elegance 1.4tsi DSG and tpms is only standard from my15 because it is mandated by law and mine is my14. Maybe I could do a vcds scan and we can compare with a car that has tpms? I have vcds available :-)
  15. Didn't know it was all electronic now. Then it might just be the coding if the abs electronics support it.
