  1. Sorry to hear this, and I know Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I liked to see a map, get the basics, then use sat nav as an aid. I often street view too when closer, to note landmarks (pubs, road layouts etc) that will help. Cornwall is bad for "narrow roads" making sense to sat Nav but not Me..
  2. Black car+ gunmetal wheels is spot on. Prefer it to black and black
  3. Unfortunately the AA patrols( prompt... Efficient and roadside fix) are rare now,..as often tied up with Jaguar,Seat,Skoda assist jobs etc... Local contractors..(not to good often... no fix.. Recovery only) are subcontracted. Timings they give to AA operator often bears no resemblance to timings actually needed. If they are on a job.. And won't get to you for hours..they won't tell AA.. As the job may go elsewhere.. So 1 hour eta given.. Job taken... Get to you in 3 hours... Waffle about wrong location etc.. Green flag and RAC still seem best options.
  4. Over 30+ years for Me.. I've got a Card, made an effort. Cooked Dinner tonight... we are then going away for the weekend. Happy to show that I still appreciate her and see how lucky I am. Not it seems the funny...accepted way.... But maybe something that should be done more.
  5. That's all well and good.... And you could get away with it for years..... Or be unlucky and meet a zealous, bad day, quota needing Bobby......or very unlucky and have an injury RTC... Then the Law AND Insurance would hammer you.Front TINTS are not just unlawfull.. They can be dangerous.... Is it worth it?
  6. 1983, I had 20 minutes in a Vauxhall Chevete with 2 others on an air field... Simply to make sure I knew what the pedals did and where the steering thing was...as long as I did not kill anyone they were happy..... Then out into the roads round Hull/Beverly in a Bloody Big 4x4 Bedford MK HGV..... Very cavalier instructor..lol
  7. Could they be Radio..or sat nav reception?
  8. Also remember.. that signs can be set for MANY reasons.... Reduced speeds are not always for traffic flow.. There could be an incident of some sort. You may come across a problem in any lane... So reducing speed IS the correct, safe and sensible thing to do.
  9. I would Gues this is a common sense approach. Simply giving them The Tools needed in the correct circumstances. Making it known to the people currently causing the problems... That things have changed. Few people sensibly at a pub..car park...etc.... No racing..no donuts... No concerns.. Fine. Few people... Loud music...donuts...revving etc... ( causing a concern..drawing public attention etc)..potentially getting out of hand... Then it can be dealt with.
  10. I usually fill up just before I expect the fuel light to come on..... Give or take. I use 2 cars... And do the same with both. Don't like to wait till I'm on reserve.... Just in case..( late..unexpected journeys needed) See no point in putting in a £10 er at a time.. So simples.... Fill...use... Nearing reserve..fill again. U hear lots of. Why fill...its heavier and wastes fuel etc..... But that's countered by more trips to fuel...or an extra Pie for lunch..lol And lots of running till red..... Because I know the range.. ( I meet many many red range balancers at the side of the road... Suprised..lol)
  11. Get it looked at and checked by another garage. Then take it from there. If it goes back to the dealer that did it ..and if they have made a mistake.. They could rectify the wrong oil and say nothing. If the manager has told them they should not have called you... He could use the opportunity to get out of the poo.... Better check
  12. Worst ive seen is years ago out in Germany. Chap left a 1 month Old Toyota Supra with his good lady whilst he went away..... Showing basic fluid checks and washer top ups.. Unfortunately, she topped up the washer fluid in the wrong cap.... The oil filler cap.... Right to the top... Trying to start the car until the battery went flat caused rather a lot of issues.... Bless
  13. The advert itself is very good...well researched, rather moving and effective as a memeroble advert. And the chocolate for sale for Charity is an excellent idea. DEFINATELY getting some of them.
  14. So you will deprive them of the age old Magic of Santa.... That has enthralled children for years... Simply To satisfy the need to let them know "I bought that" Ah well....... That sums it all up.
