I only do about 8000 miles a year, so I don't think the D is worth the hassle, that's why my heart is set on a 280.

Great information guys. Here's another conundrum - I intend to keep the car for 10+ years - 280P 4x4 or 190D 4x4, both DSG ? The 280 I think will keep me interested but the 190D will keep costs down

So, what I'm reading is - other than 7 speed DSG, the possibility of LEDs, a new nose and GPF, I'd be better off with the current model that has more power, no GPF but, only 6 gears (not that I can see that matters) ?? I might start trying for a deal in the new year - see if there are any run out models on the horizon Chris

I have read there is a facelift coming soon - more power and bigger infotainment screen Anyone know when ?.

I'm looking to buy a 280 Estate BUT, I'm worried there is a new model or major facelift coming up. Does anyone out there have a crystal ball ? Chris

I can understand that - the 177 felt fairly quick - I can only imagine the 280's performance.

I used to have a Superb 177 4x4 estate and am about to return to the fold. Are there any issues with the 280 ?

I think it could be a 4x4 & Manual combo issue - Sometines I get a 'chunk' going down into 1st at anything above a crawl - rest of gears fine. I put it down to shunt from the 4x4 system - I only have 19500 miles on my 13 plate estate and it is getting better Chris
