  1. No longer own my 2014 vRS (TDI) but just happened to stumble across this thread. Mine had the same leak a few weeks before I handed my car back under VT in 2017. They said there wasn't a leak and it was just 'using' coolant when I visited the dealers under warranty. I couldn't be bothered pressing them as I knew I was giving the car up so it went back with the fault - hopefully the new owner didn't have to pay for the repair! Think the mileage was around 45k at the time. Reg was GL14 F** in green.
  2. Did anyone receive a letter from Skoda after the collection like an account closed letter? It's been over 3 weeks and all I've had was a remittance advice for a refund for part of my last payment during the week.
  3. Impreza STi. Fancied something completely different so going from averaging 56mpg in a diesel to low to mid 20s if I'm lucky.
  4. Car has been collected. They found a small crack in one of the rear lights but other than that just small stone chips in the bonnet and a mark on the spoiler where it has started bubbling AGAIN.....I will be heavily contesting that if there is an associated charge. I didn't sign anything but he is sending me a copy of the report by email. Strange feeling as I thought I'd be glad to see the back of it with all the problems I've had but think I'm going to miss it.
  5. I chased them although the way they answered was as if they were waiting for the call. They received the paperwork Friday from Skoda so it was probably in a queue. She offered a selection of dates so I picked the nearest.
  6. As Tiger says it has to be MOT'd so they can drive it away. A bit annoying as the pickup is over the 14 day statutory time they were given to pickup the car.
  7. Cars being collected on 2nd May. Gutted as I now have to pay for an MOT just for 2 days.
  8. Damn. I managed to reverse into a wall last week so I've been waiting for that to be repaired (this morning) before phoning. Just my luck. Nothing risky about the excess mileage. There is nothing owed according to their own document I signed. "You have the right to end this agreement. To do so.....If you have already paid at least this amount plus any overdue instalments and have taken reasonable care of the goods, you will not have to pay any more." I believe from reading on here and the VW forum only people who took out agreements since they changed the wording on this have actually been sent invoices.
  9. Started my VT rolling this morning. The woman from Skoda Finance told me they would send some forms out for the excess mileage charges. Guess I'll be ignoring them if they turn up. Praying it will be collected by 30th April otherwise it needs an MOT, tax and renewing of insurance.
  10. I had a leak around the water pump a year ago which was fixed. At the weekend I lost two inches of coolant in 20 miles and the alarm sounded. Topped up and lost another two inches and alarm on over a period of about 10 miles again Monday. Thursday the same happened so called Skoda Assist. He pressure tested and couldn't see any sign of a leak despite it going down by 1/2 cm in 5 mins while we were watching it. Told me it's probably an air lock and fine - I kept a copy of the paperwork. Im VT'ing my car in 2 weeks time so if anyone sees a green one for sale (GL14 plate) stay well away! It's specifically this awful service from Skoda which is the reason I'm getting rid. Always denying problems.
  11. I'm going to be VT'ing my car next month. I've found the VW finance guide to fair wear and tear which lists what's allowed/not allowed and tolerances. Looking through the guide my car is in perfect nick except two things..... 1. My spoiler which has bubbled up 4 or 5 times has done it again. I recorded the issue with my dealer (still under warranty) but heard nothing for a few months - this isn't unusual with them. Does this need repairing before the VT or as it's under warranty when going back is this fine? 2. Two of my alloys are probably going to need referbing. Does anyone know what VW or the auction company who takes the car charge for this? I've seen two figures on various forums - one being charged £36ish per wheel and if the case I'll just accept the charge as it's less than it would cost me. The other charge I saw was £90 per wheel.
  12. My three free services have all been used so I had to pay for a major service in July this year. The price was advertised online at £269 but due to some problems with my booking and the garage forgetting to pickup my car they gave me a sizable discount and I paid just over half the cost - without even asking for a discount! Roll on yesterday and my car informed me I am due another service (minor) so booked online again and saw the price was £149. I got a call from Skoda HQ who confirmed the booking but told me it was actually £198 as the car was under three years old. I asked what difference that made but he couldn't tell me other than it would cost me more. It needed doing and I'm fed up with arguing with Skoda now so just said book it in. Does this sound right? And if so what is the justification for the added cost other than them having you by the short and curlys as you have no choice but to service it with them? Anyway lunchtime today I get another call from a girl at the dealership the car is booked in to. She was also confirming the booking and didn't realise Skoda HQ had been in touch so I queried the cost with her. She checked my service record and then confirmed my car is now on a variable servicing so it's not actually due for another 10,000 miles or July next year. It turns out I had actually, without realised switched to a variable plan when servicing the car with them last time but they didn't correct the car when resetting the service indicator. Told me to just pop in anytime this week and they will sort it for me. Bit of a result as I will be VT'ing in April so I won't have to pay for another service!
  13. Quick update: Finally got the damage report after nearly two weeks. Strangely half the report including the assessors notes on the damage have been redacted. Also some further info on the parts has been redacted. All very strange but they've now made a reasonable offer of £9.5k (the missing £500 was the excess) which she has accepted as doesn't want the car anymore. The first offer was £7k which was the glasses guide price and probably the reason for writing it off. We declined it and asked them to provide us with examples of the same model and milleage available on the market to buy which they couldn't so matched the price of the cheapest one that was available. Happy outcome but I would love to know what was redacted on the assessors form - it was any names, addresses or contact info because all of that was visible.
  14. The insurance are the ones refusing to put anything in writing like the assessors report. Only dealing with the insurance although the hire car company were the ones which notified us to the writeoff which then led to us calling the insurance. Two weeks after the car was taken away and she still hasn't had a single letter from the insurance. What makes it worse is she's still chasing them for payment for another car wrote off on the same policy (multicast policy) more than two months ago. She's not had a lot of luck!
  15. Yes. The problem is getting hold of the report. They're unwilling to give us anything in writing at the moment. All we've had is a threat on the phone that they know where the hire car is and will come and collect it with a spare key when she questioned the write off - great customer service. I remember I got given a copy of the insurance assessor report when mine was written off but I can't remember what stage of the process they gave it to me. I never asked for it as never disputed it being a write off so they must have just sent it as part of the process.
