Photos of White VRS Hatchback with mudflaps on
p3skydave replied to negaultra7's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Hello negaultra7, This is about the best i can do for you. They are quite discreet on the car, but keep a lot of the mud off the body work. When i changed to a newer mode,l i got them on that as well. Kind regards Dave- 1 reply

vRS TDI manual hatchback MPG
p3skydave replied to djkarlos's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Just clocked up 1300 miles and only running on Shell V Power. I travel mostly on mostly motorways and dual carrigeways to work and back and i have averaged 46.4mpg (using manual calculations) On board computer is quoting 46.1 since new...so this is appears to be quite accurate. Car appears to be getting more economical as the engine is now run in. -
Skoda first 7 days insurance
p3skydave replied to themanwithnoaim's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
The nice lady from Skoda was very apologetic when she quoted me a price of £1,700.00. After I picked myself up from the floor and stopped laughing, I informed her of my quote for £466.00 with another company (which I went with) It suprises me how insurance companies can be so diverse. -
Hi Chris, When you mentioned the kids that made me laugh so much. My 2 1/2 year old grand daughter looked at my new car and said "grandas new car, are we going for a drive in it" She looked so sad, when i said "NO..you can only look at it, you are not allowed in it" Kind regards Dave

Welcome Chris, I am also from the North East, and are out and about the Newcastle area quite a bit, so might see you around. ( I'm in a white Octavia Mk3 VRS hatch in white ) What colour VRS are you in, so I can give you a wave. Actually we should introduce a funny wave to all VRS drivers when we see each other...there again we would probably get the ' V ' sign more often than not. Kind regards Dave

Hi Andrew, I spotted your white VRS estate on saturday the 18th near Leadgate road/Villa Real roundabout.I was in my previous car and got wrong off 'her who should be obeyed' for getting excited about seeing another new VRS. If i am ever in the area I may take you up on that offer. Kind regards Dave

I will promise to post some photos in the future.I have just enjoyed driving it so much. After I took delivery I drove home in the rush hour traffic from Newcastle and parked up for the evening. The next day I was out early and picked a mate up and took the scenic route from Chester Le Street to Middleton In Teesdale for some breakfast. It is now filthy and needs a good wash. One thing i did notice was, with it being white, other road users seem to be more considerate around you. Does anybody know if any of the Road Policing Units (or 'Traffic' Police, for us of a certain age) are trialling or using them on their fleets yet.I know Cleveland Police have a history of using both the Mk1 and 2 Octavia VRS as Traffic cars. Kind regards Dave

I walked into a Skoda dealer in mid December 2013, and enquired about a new VRS diesel hatch. The salesman asked if I fancied a bog spec, manual, candy white one, as he had a cancelled order which they had just contacted DVLA about getting de-registered. We went to their storage compound on Team Valley Trading Estate in Gateshead and I he showed me the car. It had 'Pictoris' alloys and silver stitching on the upholstery which i preferred. Did a deal that day and picked the car up on friday 24th January, after they had registered it. I absolutely love it... I then joined this forum today and noticed the horrifc build/delivery times...and could not believe how lucky I am, at taking delivery so fast. Kind regards Dave

Hello All, I have just taken delivery of a '63' plate Skoda Octavia Vrs Diesel Mk 3...and I love it. We now have 'his and her' Skoda's as my better half has a '13' Skoda Citigo (Both in candy white) Joined the forum to gain more knowledge of my car (as I hate reading user manuals...and since, when has us men read instructions supplied with anything) Kind regards Dave
