  1. Anyone know if they do a fitting kit? i was looking at the 3025 and wondering if it'll fit?
  2. the "classic" comes with winder windows (doesn't even have central locking!) so should be an easy swap
  3. Hello everyone! Long time no post! - so far whilst i've been gone new calipers... new brake lines... new track rod ends... again... new tyres due to above... new wiper blades new battery (old one was 6 or 7years old and died in the cold) new brake light switch new brake lights (they always pop one day before MOT is due!) new problem! 1. Drivers side caliper is sticking (i say new - they're a few years old now) - gonna dismantle and inspect and regrease - hope that'll fix that... ***DO NOT USE COPPEREASE OR LITHIUM GREASE - USE RED RUBBER GREASE!*** 2. The sensor wire is intact, the battery light is visable on the dash when you turn the ignition - been there.. done that... now... i'm getting about 13.5V to 13.8V - few weeks back i was getting 14,4V (cigarette lighter volt meter - had it since i fixed the load sensor wire...) guessing the voltage regulator is startin to crap out... the alternator is still squeeking the same as always so no difference there... no sound or visable changes... My Alternator is a remanufactured Lucas LRB00474 - i'm struggling to find any part numbers for brushes Anyone in the know? Many thanks SkUG
  4. Big shout out to LB123 for sending me a replacement part - you sir are a legend! - now i just need to fish all the bits that fell in the door out again.. lol
  5. PROBLEM SOLVED - the fuse 24 was corrodded (i only checked fuse 48!), replaced it and away she went! all the sluggish power restored! (must have knocked it slightly when replacing my rear wiper fuse which i removed because it wouldnt turn off because it got water in it, now rebuilt/resealed and working again) huzzah! thanks for all your suggestions and ideas
  6. ordered a new usb cable reader thingymbob as my new laptop aint as clever as the vagcom software.... even after searchin for the old 409 version its still havin commincation issues... and these little clips can do one! not my actual photo... but i think if it wasn't broken before... it is now... flashing glow plug on dash after putting it back together... ugh - i don't wanna have to scrap my car because of stupid electric gremlins! what are the chances of the three nuts on the fuel pump slipping causing timing to be out? my vcds cable is en route... lets hope im not doin too much damage to my car meanwhile...
  7. https://workshop-manuals.com/skoda/fabia-mk1/engine/1.9/47_sdi_engine_fuel_injection/fuel_preparation_system_diesel_injection/testing_injection_control/testing__modulating_piston_movement_sender_g149__and__metering_adjuster_n146/ found it
  8. hmm pulled the sensor cable off and the can has power again and is alot quieter... but alot more smoke and still louder than usual under acceleration... sensor seems to be Edit working though, correct amount of ohms for the temperature.... just chceking the 10 pin plug next - 2 of them didn't have any voltage running through them.... going to check what those pins do... (anyone got a wiring diagram? / pretty picture) best timing checking tool too?
  9. havent got timing locking tool to hand (all my tools are 300 miles away!), opened the cover and the belt looked in good condition, no splits or tears or anything untoward...
  10. sounds like same problems i'm having... will try and check the solenoid and blah blah etc
  11. give us a clue what to check... i'm going to check electrical connections tomorrow (weather dependant) is there a fuel regulator that can stick? temperature sensors that'll affect the amount of fuel let through? its gotta be something simple cos theres not alot to go wrong in the sdi... (especally overnight!)
  12. are there any sensors or relays that affects fuel injectors? i bloody hate electraial gremlins... is it possible that one of them has crapped out/could i have knocked it when lookin at the fuse for my rear wiper? lookin for easy quick fixes as im still drivin (slowly) back n forth to work... p.s. anyone got any part nunmbers for the fuel lines?
  13. i guess i do need that bit... as you said... it opens with a screwdriver - wow - all these years i've had the car (even had to call AA out for when i locked my keys in the car when replacing the battery - doors automatically locked when reconnected!) and i've not tried to open it with another key/screwdriver - hilarious! Guess i'll be taking it all apart again as the barrel fell out tonight n all
