  1. I had annoying knocking noises from the rear of the car, eventually took it into the dealer who diagnosed failure of the suspension - replaced both rear shocks and top mounts under warranty.
  2. The car is in the dealer now - they tell me that the knocking noise is a suspension issue and both rear shocks and top mounts need replacing! It's a 14 plate car! Fortunately it's being done under warranty...
  3. My Citigo is just over a year old and for the last few weeks I've noticed a really irritating, but quiet, knocking noise from the rear whenever I'm moving. It isn't linked to engine speed or braking, so I'm imagining it's a fault with the suspension or something that has worked loose somewhere. I will be booking it back into the dealer which is a home-from-home - previously it's been in for a squeaky sunroof, dodgy radio reception (three times) and poor braking (twice) - but wondered if anyone else has experienced a similar issue and if so what was the fault/resolution. And before anyone asks - I've emptied everything out of the boot and checked the spare wheel is stowed securely, so it's not that!
  4. Just a few weeks later... radio reception is dreadful again - in fact, the radio is unusable most of the time. So it's been back into the dealer, this time for two days - they have replaced the base unit (again) and the cable which connects the radio to the aerial... this required them basically dismantling the back half of the car - removing the sunroof, rear seats, boot fittings! Anyway the news is that now the reception is superb again. Hopefully that's fixed it for good...
  5. Just had a look on the Skoda website, Citigo configurator (that's not even a real English word!), and DAB Radio is an option. Anyone know if this can be retrofitted??
  6. I had all the same issues, Bluetooth stuttering, unreliable, etc. Tried resetting the phone, the PID, re-pairing, unpairing, etc. etc. until eventually I worked out that it's down to a loose connection on the PID itself - whenever the Bluetooth starts stuttering I just give the PID a bit of a wiggle and suddenly the connection is good again and the stuttering stops. I took the PID off (base unit too), gave all the contacts a clean, and now the stuttering doesn't seem to happen any more.
  7. Radio reception has deteriorated again and is now worse than ever (despite having the base unit replaced by the dealer). Interestingly, when I went to book it back in for yet another repair (third time lucky?) the dealer said, "really, we've had several in and replacing the base unit has fixed the problem every time"... so clearly it's a common problem.
  8. OK... I'm still having this issue but I think I've worked out the problem. When the PID is disconnected from the car (i.e. not in the holder), the Bluetooth works flawlessly and plays through the PID's internal speaker. When returned to the car holder, the sound works fine for a while but then cracks up. Removing the PID from the holder, and re-inserting it, solves the problem. So it looks as though the connectors in the holder are either dirty, or faulty... at least I know it's not the iPhone, or the Bluetooth!
  9. Had an utterly dreadful 1.2 diesel Roomster when my car was in the dealer this week - if I never drive the Roomster ever again, it'll be too soon, dreadful dog of a car. But it did make me appreciate the CitiGo's handling, comfort and nippiness more than ever!
  10. OK, so interesting to hear that I seem to be in a minority here with a dodgy Bluetooth connection! Just before I contact the dealer (again!), does anyone have any suggestions for anything I can try re configuration of either the PID or the iPhone?
  11. So, car is back from the dealer, and the news is... fixed under warranty. New base amplifier unit fitted, now excellent reception everywhere. Hurrah!
  12. I have an iPhone 6 paired to the PID. Hands free works fine but playing music through Bluetooth is appalling - almost always the playback is crackly, buzzy or choppy. Does anyone have any suggestion how I might improve things - is there some setting I'm missing on the iPhone perhaps??
  13. I've booked my CitiGo back into the dealer. The service chap was skeptical, especially of opinions shared on a forum, but they are going to keep it for two days to see if they can reproduce the error... will let you know how it goes!
  14. After about 6,000 miles in my Elegance 75PS I was averaging about 52mpg, was a bit disappointed so started changing gear according to the dashboard indicator (even if at first it feels odd). By doing that the mpg has shot up to 60 which is much more what I'd expect. The trick with the Citigo is... don't give in to the urge to drive it like a go kart!
  15. Premium isn't everything, as already noted - the cheapest sometimes has hidden costs. I avoid Hastings like the plague now, I was insured with them before because they were cheapest. Rang them to add business cover - cost was £4.50. Then they charged me an additional £35 to make the change. They'll charge you the same for changing any details, such as the car, or your address. Utterly outrageous. Insurance companies are only allowed to charge admin fees that actually reflect the costs involved to them of making a change ... so I can only assume Hastings are paying their call centre staff £200 an hour or more since it takes moments to update the computer!
