    Yeti No3 on order

Looks fabulous!! Picking mine up on Saturday and then a week off work to play with it! Enjoy!!!
  2. Happy for it to tell me about a loss of *tyre* pressure, just not a loss of *tire* pressure! There are limits you know!!
  3. Had a little video clip from my dealer this morning of my new Yeti parked up at the dealership! Still wrapped up in whatever they wrap them up in, but nice to see it and to know it's arrived safely!
  4. I can live with a kph digital speedo, but if my new Yeti tells me there's an issue with my 'tire' pressures I am going to be seriously displeased. Please, someone tell me it ain't so....

    Yeti No3 on order

Not sad at all!! I was almost disappointed when the dealer emailed to say it was already in the UK - I was looking forward to tracking its progress across the water! Second thoughts, maybe we're both a bit sad.....

    Yeti No3 on order

Somehow, mine was built last week (wk 31) and arrived in Grimsby yesterday!
  7. No - that should be replace the BOTTOM hooks, not the top!
  8. A Saris Bones works OK, you just need to replace the top hooks with hatch huggers.
  9. You may well be right!! Unfortunately, even though I'd prefer a factory fit I don't have much choice because SUK also said "We cannot request build of any independent spec of vehicle other than what is available via brochure and DOC" Anyway, it's ordered now so it's up to the dealer to make sure the job is done properly with no squeaks, rattles or dodgy coding - and he already knows how fussy I am!
  10. Thanks for the replies, I'm a bit more reassured now that I know that other Yeti-ists have had no problems with this. SUK said .... "This model is 2.0 TDi SCR when selecting Towbar it will force Space saver spare wheel – this is due to the fitment of the AD Blue System...." which made me think that it was to do with the Ad Blue tank sitting where the tow bar needs to be. But I've never had either a tow bar or an Ad Blue tank so I don't know much about either of them! I didn't want the spare wheel again because I wanted more boot space this time around and I haven't had a puncture for about 15 years. Guess what happened yesterday.......
  11. Does anyone have a Yeti with an Ad Blue tank and a tow bar? SUK will only allow the tow bar to be ordered if the spare wheel option is added. Maybe they relocate the Ad Bluetank into the extra space with the spare wheel if they factory fit a tow bar?? Anyway, I seem to have ordered my 2nd Yeti (as you do), but decided I wanted more boot space this time around so I wasn't keen on paying an extra £150 for a spare wheel I didn't want just so that I can have a tow bar. My dealer has a local guy who fits all their 'dealer fitted' tow bars and he's confident that he can fit a detachable tow bar on a Yeti with an Ad Blue tank so I've ordered it on a dealer fit basis (and then it's the dealer's problem if it all goes pear shaped...) I've no reason to think that the tow bar chappie can't do it, but I was just wondering if anyone has any experience themselves? I'm paying the dealer to provide this service so if it doesn't work out it's his problem not mine cos I won't accept the car without it.
  12. Also meant to say that I'm guessing that fitting a universal kit would invalidate the warranty but fitting a dedicated kit would be OK?
  13. Thanks for all the advice - as always, this forum a great place for real life practical help. Thanks also for the links to the project thread and to Joel Shoemark's post - they're both excellent. It all looks more complicated than it ought to be, and it also seems that the eBay bargain Halfords wiring kit isn't quite the bargain I thought it was!
  14. I need to get a cycle light board fitted to my 2014 Yeti. I have no tow bar and no tow bar prep. Hubby used to be an auto electrician back in the olden days, so is reasonably au fait with what's required. He has all the kit (probably) but is less than 'engaged' with the process because "if you stand slightly to the left rear of the car and tilt your head to one side you can see all the lights quite clearly so why do we need to bother fitting a board......" Anyway, before he gets stuck in are there any quirks associated with the Yeti that he might need to know about? Anything not where you'd expect it to be, or anything that does something that you might expect it not to? Handy to know so that I can stand over him while he's working and offer some helpful advice; I'm sure he'll appreciate that. Thanks in advance!
  15. Ahh - the culprit.... No problem at all - you outbid me and that's what eBay's all about! I decided not to wait for another to come up for auction and spent a few more quid on a new one (£33 delivered). Agree with you on the tight fit though, I thought I'd bought the wrong one, but I guess it needs to be a snug fit to do the job properly. I also found that, being a bit on the short side, when the boot is open the parcel shelf is too high for me to open the zip section. I'm either going to have to turn it around so that I can access the zip from the rear seats, or buy a step as recommended in this thread we've hijacked!
