I have noticed that when the automatic windscreen heating is on the convenience consumers shows that it is using more fuel, I noticed this when I had manually turned it off by the button after I had put it on. But the cc panel showed that it was still working and then went off after about 5 minutes.

You'll also need the second battery and alternator that goes with it and a chunk of the boot space for the gubbins.

Hi, I have covered just over a thousand miles in my Octavia SE 1.6 TDI since new. Today I went for a day out in God's own country, Northumberland. Granted I was flying around but even I am impressed with the fuel economy. I also used Aircon intermittently when the need arose, and there was 4 adults in the car and about a 1/3 of a tank of diesel when I started.

My Car took 18 hours to get across the North Sea to North Shields, ship docked at about midday, car arrived at the dealers on transporter about 11am following day. (Distance from dock to dealers about 6 miles). I know this because my brother drove past the transporter on A19 that was full of silver Skoda's. Asked the dealer in the afternoon when I went to get the Reg and sort 7 day insurance if they had had a delivery and he said they'd had 7/8 silver cars including mine delivered that morning. Pick up 10am on Tuesday.

Hi My dealer has just rung me up a couple of hours ago to tell me that my Octavia has disembarked at North Shields, and should be at the Dealer's tomorrow in Cramlington. (I'll go and pick it up if they want, as it is only about 6 miles from the port to the dealer! It would only take me about 25 mins from home to port and 15mins return to the dealer.) I will pick it up on Tuesday. It has taken about 11 weeks from order to collection, (ordered on the 7/3/14) which didn't seem to be as long a wait, as the last 3 weeks from build in week 18 to arriving in the UK. I have one question to the sages on this forum: Is the USB socket powered with 5v and if it is, could I run my TomTom One from it instead of the cigarette Lighter? Any replies would be most welcome.

It was ordered on the 7th March, just a standard 1.6d with lots of extras!

I've just had an email from my dealer to say that I have a provisional build week of 19. That has already been moved forward from build week 22. So hopefully I will be driving away in my new Octavia at the end of May. Fingers crossed.

Hi I have been lurking on here for a while. I have had Skoda's for the last 5 years. Started with a Fabia, then moved to a MkII Octavia, and I am now awaiting delivery of a new MkIII Octavia. I ordered it 3 weeks ago, and I hope to have before the end of June. I have always found this forum very friendly and Interesting.
