Hello everyone. New here, but have found this forum very helpful in getting to know the ins and outs of my Superb over the last few months - thank you.
I've found something odd in my o/s front wing. It looked like a bin bag poking out of the hole in the inner wing in front of the washer reservoir, but when I pulled it out it is an ~ 10 cm cube of foam in a black plastic bag (see photos). The bag is sealed at both ends, and has holes to allow the air out when the foam is compressed, so looks "official", but it seems to me it could hold moisture and be a rust trap.
It was wedged tight between the wing and the top of the plastic wheel arch liner (approximately underneath the rearmost wing bolt is in the photo). Has anyone seen anything like this before? I wondered whether it was something accidentally left behind from manufacture? I also worried that it was a bodge to stop something rattling, but everything is secure and nothing rattles with it out. The car only had 30 miles on it when we picked it up. so not long to have picked up a dodgy history.
