I'm looking at getting coilovers for mine but being a 53 plate I don't know which ones I need as the chassis code is supposedly 1u but I'm not too sure.any advice?

Hi guys Just abit of info needed. Im looking to fit coilovers to my VRS however from what i have been reading there is a few different choices. I have a 53 plate mk1 VRS. I think its the 1U Code but not sure. Please could someone adivise Cheers

My gearbox in my vrs went bag last year. Same scenario as the above. No call for it to go. I have been advised that the VRS gearbox is the weakest in the VW Group range. I fitted an Audi A3 Gearbox to mine and it much better. Smoother through the range etc and you can pick them up for next to nothing. The only thing that needs to be done to fit it is the gear selector and clutch assembly needs swapping over but is an easy job.
