  1. I have the same, 6 months after the warranty is up.... Does anyone have an estimate on how much this would cost to fix?
  2. I tested the 1.0 110 hp the other day. Loved the sound! A bit more noisy but more of a sporty sound. And it felt a bit faster than my 1.2 TSI 110hp as well! I had a lot of fun driving it, very impressed.
  3. Yes that is exactly the sound I had in my car. Since the fix at VAG the issue has not returned. Earlier in this thread Gabbo translated my explanation in proper english to be " the canister purge system which is used on Gasoline engines to trap fuel vapour from the tank in a charcoal cannister & then feed it into the engine to be burnt" The mechanics had recently had the same issue on a golf so he knew what to look, or listen for and it was the same sound. Hope this gives a few clues to what to look for. Good luck! oh and do reach out if anything is unclear or there is anything else I can help out with. Briskoda has been a great source of information and helped me several times so if there is anything I can do to help a fellow Briskodian, just reach out.
  4. Couldn't have said it any better. Don't listen to suggestion on taking the car straight off. Leverage this situation for your own benefit and share your concerns with the dealer. We don't know the full story, and it is more about your trust in VAG - that now is non-existing. You might not get anything from this, but doesn't hurt to try.
  5. Happy to hear you are impressed, but don't tell us, tell the tuning company
  6. Thanks for the tip. I had the dealer check for this as well. I've ruled out all the obvious, to a point I can only assume it's a combo of low profile tyres and Skoda's limited sound insulation. I am considering visiting another dealer to test drive a vrs for better comparison. But right now, my thinking is to live with the noise and in 3 years time trade for another brand and never go back to Skoda.
  7. ...and I replied a few days ago I have the same issue but that it is not saw toothing as I have just purchased completely new set of tires. It did not help. I did visit the dealer and tested another Octavia (not vrs) and I could hear the same sound though not as loud. So I guess it's just bad noise isolation. Now I know not to buy another Skoda next time.
  8. I thought the Octavia 2.0 had the EA288 but I will check with my dealer (if no one knows)
  9. This sounds exactly like my issue. I have had it checked out by a Skoda mechanic and they had no clue but will ask Skoda Sweden. It is definitely not bearing, mechanic checked. And it is not saw toothing, as I purchased new tires and did a wheel adjustment. Awaiting to hear from Skoda Sweden what to do next. The sound is just like you describe it, a tumbling or rotational sound coming from the back, probably left side. The sound is louder where the left back passenger sits, coming from below and like resonance spreading up in the cabin. The sound is not that loud below the boot screen which is weird. To be continued...
  10. I'm trying to find approved allow wheel and tyres size for the mk3 as it's soon time to buy winter wheels! I could not find the information in the fabia manual and want to get a complete list of e.g. ET, width, center bore as well as the actual tyre sizes. Also, will the fabia mk2 alloy wheels be compatible with the mk3? Would be interesting in trying to pick up used wheels.
  11. It did! I have now driven the car a few times and have not heard the beep anymore
  12. or BSR. I think both Vtech and BSR have quite high reputation.
  13. Looks great! And yes more pics please! I have also lowered with eibach and are now thinking of adding spacers. Does the 20/30mm spacers align the front and back wheels? My options I've been thinking about are either 20/30 (like you) or 0/20 (so only 10mm on each side on rear wheels). Btw, did you purchase from ebay or how did you go about ordering?
