  1. Hi Micklcats, Rob1947 & Oldfellah. Sorry for not replying/commenting lately to your comments. Been very busy work wise lately. Glad we are all pleased that we can get our seats out! Best wishes. Kevin
  2. Definitely improved on all fronts after being run in properly. Drives beautifully now and fuel economy noticeably better. 1 year old and 23k on the clock. Still not as torquey as my last company Focus 2.0TDi however. With the sports pack as well, that was easily the best "ordinary" car I have ever driven.
  3. Ho Oldfellah. No, just the usual upward pull. I removed the child seat Isofix fixings first which just pull out once you work out how to slide/pull them. Not sure whether you have to remove these but I did anyway. After many years of Ford ownership, this is my first Skoda so I'm still finding my way round how everything goes together. Had it a year and 23k miles and am extremely pleased with the car. Cheers.
  4. Well yes, there is a simple answer to this. One of the 2 side fixings had caught in the upholstery where is it was wrapped round underneath. Because I could only work from one side under the car port, I couldn't get access to the offside seat edge. Today, with the car fully outside, I could free one side enough to get my hand underneath the seat enough to unhook the caught up fabric. Dead simple job, should only take 2 mins if you give yourself enough room to work! Topic closed.
  5. Hi, Have searched the forum pages but cannot find the answer. I wish to run some cables and would like to remove rear seat (not the backs) to route cables under. I have remove ISOfix covers/unhooked brackets and can pull seats up at front and a bit at the rear. I've tried brute force but there seems to be 2 fixings, 1 under each seat edge that I can't for the life of me work out how to get to them. Approx positions are shown by yellow stars in the attached photo. I'm sure there is a simple answer to this, any help gratefully received. Kevin
  6. Car went back into dealers last week. New "steering column switch" fitted as per advised recall and hey presto, my cruise control problem seems to be fixed. Have done 1000 miles since with no problem. The service receptionist, although very efficient and polite in her job, was completely non-technical and you would get more info talking to a brick wall. The only info I could get was that the steering column switch recall was a very recent recall, no doubt those with more insight can find the recall details. So, if you have an intermittent cruise control problem on a new-ish Octy III then check for recalls.
  7. Gabbo Thanks for comments. Was unable to concentrate on car problem due to family illness and bereavement but now back in the saddle and on to the dealer. Car goes back in next week so will question dealer on fault codes, solution and exactly what the recall notice was. Being a lease car, I'm not always in direct contact with dealer but will be taking and collecting the car myself next week so will be asking questions! No, there are no other warning lights showing or any other apparent problems
  8. Further to my post of 2nd June, the CC warning light has got progressively worse, coming on every time now so that CC has finally died. Car went into main dealers today for the fault and was told there was outstanding Recall on the vehicle (thanks to my lease company for not telling me). The investigation report says W1 - outcome on CC fault requires new column switch as per recall(!). W2 - outcome of recall requires new switch as above - W-Steering column switch 94H3 ordered. It's back in next week to be fitted. This seems obviously different to suspected software fault that others are discussing but was anyone aware of a recall for the column switch. We'll see next week!
  9. My first post to this excellent forum. After 5 months & 10k miles, the orange CC warning light now has started to come on when CC selected and of course it then doesn't function. Doesn't happen every time. Have not noticed CC drop out or come on by itself (very worrying!). Car is a 2.0 Elegance manual. It's a lease car so I shall shortly be on the phone to the lease company.
