  1. Hi folks. I've noticed that when driving our Yeti, I can occasionally here a fairly rapid clicking noise coming from behind the dash. It sounds a bit like a relay chattering rapidly for about 5 seconds or so, then it stops. I can only ever hear it when the climatronic is set to its lowest setting. It doesn't seem to do it with the climatronic set to off. Hss anyone got any ideas what it might be? Andy Ps, its a 2012 yeti elegance 140 diesel..

  3. Hi folks, I've just booked my Yeti in for it's first service. It's not far off 2 years old, and is apparently on this long life servicing schedule. It's done about 18k miles. I've had no problems with it at all, but I was just wondering if there is anything I should be asking the dealer to do, when it goes in for the service. Are there any software updates, or bits of work that should be done in particular? Oh, its a 140 diesel 4x4 by the way... Cheers Andy
  4. Hi folks. I've got a 2012 Yeti elegance 4x4, and after a recent trip away with the family, we could do with some more room for "stuff" in the boot. I'm not too bothered about carrying a spare wheel, I would prefer to have the extra space available. So, I want to take out the boot floor that is fitted, take out the foam storage inserts, and the rear wheel, and put a proper lower floor in. Has anyone ever done this before, and do you know the part numbers and approx costs of doing so? Cheers Andy
  5. Hi folks. We've had our yeti for a few months now (elegance 140 diesel) and I'm really impressed with it. One area I would like to improve, is the boot space. We have a full sized spare in there with the little foamy cubby hole things. I was wondering if it is possible to take the spare out, and fit a lower boot floor? I'm not too concerned about losing the spare, I would only change the wheel myself if I can get well off the carriage way, and most of the time my wife would be driving. There's no way on earth she would attempt to change the wheel! The extra space would be really useful too, 2 kids under three years old means there is a mountain of stuff to cart around for days out and trips away for the weekend! If anyone has a how to guide, or part numbers from Skoda to ask about, I would live to find out what they are! Thanks, Andy
  6. Ah, the cheeky mechanic has probably left it on his workbench then Cheers Andy
  7. That's why I politely told them thanks, but no thanks. (I was a little less polite when telling SWMBO on the way home though!) Andy
  8. That's what I thought, although my mind has been playing tricks on me! I don't often look at the pedals you see, my feet get in the way Thanks for confirming though, much appreciated. Do you happen to know if the metal/rubber bit is a clip on cover, or is it an integral part of the pedal? I'm going to see what the garage say now, I can't wait for the excuse.... Andy
  9. Afternoon all. Our vRS has just passed the magical 60k mile marker, which set an alarm bell ringing in my head. As the warranty is now offically expired, now is the time to start the modifications! it is currently a bog standard limited edition vRS, and for a start I want to get the wheels refurbished (I'm thinking satin black finish, with all the silver bits of trim done in the same colour). The big one is a remap though. I'm trying to decide if it is worth re-mapping a 60k mile old car, and whether there will be any worthwhile gains to be had. My other concern is accelerated wear and tear on other components. Is there anything that would be recommended to inspect/change before going for a remap on a car of this age? I'm off to catch up on some threads detailing the various remap options now, as budget is going to be a big factor in the equation.... Performance for one's pound and all that Cheers Andy
  10. We had an offer for a part ex against a new octy vRS of £5800 about a month ago. That was for our 07 vRS ltd ed. with 60k on the clock.
  11. Afternoon all, I've not really stopped by this forum for a while now, but I was hoping that someone with a Fabia vRS limited edition could help me out quickly. I took mine in for a bit of work last week, the engine revs at idle was a little erratic (up to 1400rpm at times). The skoda garage diagnosed it as a faulty throttle pedal, and decided to replace it, which they duly did. The revs problem is now sorted, so top marks for that. However, I have noticed that the throttle pedal they have put in, just has a textured black plastic front (where your foot goes). Now I can't for the life of me remember if this is what the vRS came with, or whether the original pedal had the metal/rubber pad type pedal that looks a bit nicer. I know the brake and clutch pedal have the metal/rubber pads on, and that they are just held in place with a rubber backing clip thingy, so I am hlaf thinking that they have forgotten to put it back on again. So, can anyone tell me what their vRS throttle pedal looks like? I could do with knowing before I go back to the garage and ask them to put the right pedal on there..... Cheers Andy
  12. Evening folks. I've just gone past 20k miles on my VRS Se, and I have just noticed that the drivers leather seat seems to be wearing rather quickly. On the seat base, there are raised parts on the left and right. On the right hand side one of these, there feels like a metal bar of some sort almost coming through the leather. It is almost as if the padding that should be there (under the leather, is not, and the metal bit is starting to poke through. So far, it has just made the leather go shiny and a smooth, but it feels like it is going to rip sooner or later. It is only on the drivers side that this has happened, and the left hand side of that seat is fine (as is the passenger seat). I was just wondering if anyone else with the leather seats fitted has experienced this at all, before I take a trip to the dealers for their opinion? Cheers Andy
  13. Evening folks. HAs anyone had any problems with the 6 disc CD changer fitted under the passenger seat in Fabias? Mine has recently started refusing to play CDs and just showing an "error" on the display and beeping. I have tried everything I can think of, and it looks like the CDs are not being loaded from the magazine. Anyone got any ideas before I try the dealer on Monday? Cheers Andy
  14. Hey folks, I'm picking mine up tomorrow Woo and indeed hoo! Cheers Andy
  15. The front grill on our 06 vrs is slightly different to the one on our old 53 plate vrs. The vanes are sort of angled toward the centre on the newer one. On the old one they are just straight.... Cheers Andy
