  1. Ah good news any chance i can have their names to ask where they aquired them?
  2. ive had the oil jets replaced on my car about 4000kms ago hasnt used a drop since, breather mod wasnt done due to my air intake so it seems to me to be a pretty good fix finally!!!
  3. any one know if you can get these denso plugs in australia? otherwise i'll have to pay $100aud to get them from the uk
  4. I've done about 15,000kms on mine it's been lowered 3 1/2 inches so it's a bit crashy but our roads in Australia aren't the best. Great little package for the price though
  5. Hi Guys! Love this forum more of an observer than a contributor like the topic says I had oil burner which had a oil consumption test at 7,500kms (was using 1ltr to 900kms) but miraculously fixed itself! workshop put it down to the rings finally bedding in, said they had 3 Octavia's do the same thing? not sure what that has to do with my engine but anyway at the 21,000km mark oil light comes on which is no problem as its about to go in for a service so I buy a 1ltr top up and forget about it. but before I can take my car in the light comes on again at 21,857km so it got another top up. which has now cost me $75 Aud cant buy 5ltr containers in my town So heres the problem I get slapped with another oil consumption test but if it rectified itself the first time does that mean something else has failed? and has anyone else experienced the same problem? Oh and the engine is a june 2012 vrs cave first reg 8/2013 with a tmc box, Itg cai, and a forge fmic. all put on after the first one resolved itself. Thanks for any input
  6. I have a 2012 plate and I'll be keeping mine for at least another 5 yrs, fantastic little cars.
  7. Strange I had my car delivered july last year MY12 and when it went in for its 1500km check they did a dsg ecu update so there's definitely one for it. I'd be ringing another dealer and asking them about the update.
  8. Glad to Know! Here I was thinking I hadn't done something right hopefully it will sound even better once I put my tmc tuning box back on. just fitting some coilovers, H&R rarb and the forge fmic at the moment then ill see how it goes but overall I think its great!
  9. Hey all just installed the itg cold air intake, sounds great lots of wastegate noise but I've noticed on low rpm in a high gear going up an incline when the supercharger kicks in for a bit of assistance it sounds like there is a bird in my air box where the filter is. So do I have a air leak allowing this noise out somewhere or is this just how it sounds? also the hose clamps they supply are rubbish so I bought some new ones thinking that might be the problem.
  10. I did read about this somewhere that at 5,200 rpm mark it picks up again to about the 6-6500 rpm at which I guess Maximum hp is achieved. Unfortunately for me I have the probably the last cave engine before the cthe (engine build date 07-2012). But I noticed my car especially in 3rd would come to life again in the specified rev range. So maybe they changed the map just before they changed the engine?
  11. Sadly yes it is cheaper to buy from the uk who wants to pay $1695 for an ic or $850 for 2 arb's. So for an extra $100 I got all my parts inc delivery, I should also mention I live on an island which means Postage in Australia is pricey for me.
  12. Amazing what a bump will do, just spoke to john at awesome and purchased the forge ic, itg maxogen cia, ap coil overs And a h&r rear arb. Now I just have to wait for it to cross the Indian Ocean : )
  13. Yeah well apparently the experts because he had to ring them to see what to do (alarm bells ring) but then I realised I am the the only owner of a fabia vrs where I live so its new to them. I do agree that figure was plucked out of the air just to make it higher than my claims of 5-600mls. I have a feeling my own skoda dealership may not know exactly what they are doing specially when they pulled the old things are different here in Australia routine. If I have to spend $80 aud a year on oil so be it cause I love this car.
  14. So it appears this thread has died but just wanted to let you guys know about trip to skoda on Monday. They are going to do an oil consumption test every 1000kms over 3000kms. Spoke to the mechanic and he said That skoda said that up to 900mls to 1000kms is acceptable! We both agreed that's just lunacy but I guess I'll just to wait and see What happens.
