  1. Did you replace the DMF when you installed the clutch or just the clutch?
  2. Looking good mate, I love the colour of the special editions, what did you use to get the fli eye on your headlights?
  3. When I had mine going into a catch tank and vented out through a breather it smoked like a kettle and spat oil out everywhere
  4. I do approximately 500 miles a week sometimes more sometimes a little less and last year I bought an Audi a4 avant with the same trusty pd130 engine in and let the wife drive the polo. Now don't get me wrong the Audi is a great refined comfy car and can swallow up the miles no problem, however the fuel economy compared to the polo was crap. Didn't seem to matter how you drove it couldn't get it past 52mpg compared to easily getting 60mpg from the polo. I also found the Audi quite boring after a wile, now it might be just me but at the end of stint on the motorway I sometimes like to blast up the slip road and fly round some round a bouts and the polo was just to much better at that. So after 9 moths I swapped with the wife and have been back in the Polo ever since and wouldn't change it for anything.
  5. Nah I wouldn't worry about it mate, mine was running well hot last week on the way out of brum stuck in traffic but cooled down straight away as soon as the fan kicked it.
  6. Agreed wouldn't take much of a bumpy ride to throw an unsecured one through the parcel shelf and in the cabin or out the back window. Something like this should do the trick I reckon http://www.butserrubber.com/products/straps/
  7. Sounds like a plan to me matey, do you fancy doing a how to guide to make my life easier - cheeky I know :-D
  8. We would need to find out how much current the starter motor would draw from the battery and then work out the best cable. If it was 700amps and you were using a 500amp cable even if it was only drawing current for a few seconds surely it would over heat and bust into flames. 200amps is a hell of a lot of current!
  9. I have been thinking about doing this as well, I was thinking about using a thick gauge of wire that you can get in the wiring kits for amps and subs etc. As an extra fuse close to battery would be a good idea in my eyes just in case the cable was to be cut or sliced in an accident or something. Can't see the resistance of the cable run affecting anything unless you were going over 10meters which shouldn't be a problem with these cars. On paper it sounds like a simple job but from previous experience with other cars getting the cable from the boot to the bay is usually a *******!
  10. I has this issue also, my remedy was to take it to my local exhaust centre and asked them kindly to remove the heat shielding and chop off the back box! problem solved :-)
  11. That's a beast of an fmic you got there mate, thats my next purchase after a new clutch, you'll have to let us know how it drive with it on
  12. Will be taking the GT to the local dealer tomorrow, when I was washing it the other day I noticed some crusty bubbling on the boot lid just above the back bumper. I'll keep you posted on what they say
  13. Hmmmmmm I may have to look into this ready for those chilly winter mornings, are the heating elements already fitted to the GT seats?
  14. Cheers for the reply's guy, Would you recommend, or can it be used with a Dual Mass fly-wheel or only a single?
  15. I'm guessing its a lot more grabby (forgive the not tech expression lol) than the standard clutch? Have you had any experience with it in stop start traffic?
