its so random and brief would have to have it on all time record and then it might not get it its like it chokes for a second then fine

Hi everyone. I have a question and hopefully one of your braniacs can help me. I got my 2005 skoda octavia 1.9tdi 110hp dsg back i nfeb. When i got it started having issues with abs anyway that got solved after replacing front wheel bearing front abs sensor front abs loom it was abs pump :( anyway that sorted had a starting issue then found the idiot that had it before me put a petrol battery on diesel car so that sorted that. Had it serviced all filters air and fuel and oil etc. I had an issue from the start which was the following. Sometimes when you get to about 20 - 30 mph the car falters briefly and you can physicaly hear a noise like an un lubricated pump noise as it makes the noise you can feel the car falter its almost like its being choked and then comes out other side fine i have had it happen around 40mph but more common at the lower end. The car always continues to run never brakes down. I had rac out they said it sounds like diesel pump the noise is upfront somewhere and can be heard i think more if passenger window is down or if you go through a tunnel with windows down you can here it its not a constant noise just happens when it wants. Had car read no error codes no lights on dash and had my diesel pump replaced nearly £500 and its still there had treatment in fuel still there is there something i am missing guys its doing my head in lol and i am hoping its something simple. Heres hopeing i can get some help.

Hi guys I have now sorted hot start issue and it was the battery after all that perfect now :( Anyway still have abs issue anyone have any ideas about that at all? Thanks again guys your all superstars as mechanics did not pick up on this lol

how hard is it to fix crank position sensor if that's the issue? Thanks

Thanks for all the advice I am going to get a new battery tomorrow and see how I go as far as abs I got a vag tech on it he has taken 1000 miles of data off car which he is looking through and hopefully he can come up with something. would a bad battery really be ok at cold and not when hot or warm? Hi everyone and I hope someone can help before I go insane! I bought a skoda Octavia on 55 plate 2005 its 1.9tdi with the dsg gearbox. I have a couple of issues. Issue 1: When the car reaches normal temperature which usually sits around half on the temp gauge never seems to go higher than that it then seems that the car takes quite a bit more turning over to get the engine started. From cold first turn of the key but when warm then it takes a few times turning over to get it started. I have swapped the temp sensor/sendors at a garage as that was suggested but to no avail and also fault coming up was that 3 of the glow plugs were failing so had a new set still no change, From cold brilliant seems very weird? Anything anyone can suggest. Also had a new diesel/fuel filter. Issue 2: ABS/ASR comes on randomly some days more than others but every day none the less. Had the car read at 2 different garages both said front right speed sensor so had it swapped but still happens and still the same fault, The garage then went onto say it was abs loom had it swapped no difference. Then said it was wheel bearing had it swapped and no good then they said it was the cap on brake fluid had broken and the sensor was moving around hence the light comes on and still no good. No matter what the front right speed sensor seems to be error coming up but its been swapped twice and the garage have come to a point where they are scratching there heads. Anyone have any ideas as this is now driving me crazy Any help appreciated guys.

Hi Guys I am new to the forum, I have an issue where as when I start the car first thing in the morning its first turn of the key every time. If I get the engine up to temperature then it can turn over a good few times before starting The car has been plugged in at skoda and a vw specialist with no fault codes. It only happens when the engine has warmed up? Its not slow at turning over the starter motor and battery are fine I was told there is a common sensor that fails temp sender or something like that? Any help appreciated its driving me mad now lol
