  1. Driving down motorway at 70 mph, inside lane (of course! ) and the word BRAKE in red flashed up on the screen in front of me. Any idea why? I occasionally get the symbol (for no apparent reason) that I think indicates I'm about to hit something - even though there is nothing in front of me - but this was a new one!
  2. That would be interesting- though anyone mad enough to use their own car for it...
  3. I’ve just moved from a 6 speed 170 to a 7 speed 150 and to be honest it feels brisker in normal driving - possibly because the 7 speed DSG has closer ratios than the 6 speed? Anyway - whilst I never drive it to the maximum it seems fine to me.
  4. The new one will come with a comprehensible manual. Or not!
  5. I changed from a Mk2 to a Mk3 and found the ride significantly better. But the 18" wheels on my Mk2 had 40 profile tyres and those on the Mk3 are 45. Numerically not much but visually they look much deeper and the ride - probably for that reason is much softer.
  6. I don’t really follow that. I use the freewheel economy function, but as soon as you touch the brake pedal it engages the gears again. Any difference would be pretty insignificant, surely!
  7. Does it link in with the standard Columbus sat nav automatically?
  8. No doubt if it were reversed we’d get the opposite view! (But my wife agrees).
  9. Diesels do if course warm up more slowly. Would be good to know the target maximum temp - it might boil at 300 but I’d be bothered if it got to half that!
  10. It would have helped if the cheapskates had fitted two nozzles in the first place!
  11. As far as I can see there is no mention of the acceptable range in the manual (though I could have missed it) making the data pretty pointless!
  12. Hah! When I started driving we had a dial for oil pressure. You don’t get that now!
