  1. In all fairness to skoda, I did plan to go in last week where they said theyd have a look over there work for free, but my misses was coming to pick me up and some muppet crashed into her and wrote her car off!!! So I had to detour and pick her up. Then I asked another chap to rearrange who said theyd have to put it on diagnostics and check for 50quid.curse of the skoda!
  2. Yeh, im using a van for work so itl just do a maybe 30miles till its trip up to shark next Saturday. I hope this ben chaps all as good as people rave about! Never heard a bad thing about him so heres hoping! Im guessing the diesel can only get into the oil through the injectors?
  3. I know what you mean, but the car hasnt missed a beat in its 52k but less than 300miles after a service it goes wrong.... It mite be just a coincidence but I bet if it wasn't serviced itd b fine. Any hints on what route to go down? Or just wait til shark have a look and go from there?
  4. Huh, didnt know they shouldn't be using engine flush, they rang me and talked me into it as I wasnt going to bother!!!! Didnt have an injector changed tho,They just used the diesel injector cleaner which I presumed dislodged something in the pipes which ended up in the injector? If this could happen?
  5. I havent changed my driving atall, bit of town and fast roads. Shark scanned it on vcds and showed no faults and dpf has done 7 regens since April and last was done 120km ago at the time and was 25% full. I was wondering if it could be and injector not closing fully and allowing fuel to pass all the time, hence the smoke and draining fuel through when engine switched off making the oil level go up? But looked for absolutely ages on the Internet and never found a case of a dodgy injector on a common rail vrs?
  6. Octavia cr vrs smoke, increasing oil level: https://youtu.be/JQKFhJ79elY
  7. Ok,so ive got a cr 60 plate vrs that was perfect, remapped it at shark about 4 months ago and was fine bar a slight high idle occasionally. Then I had it serviced by skoda about 2 months ago and within 300 miles I noticed a puff of smoke come out the back. I got home and checked my oil and it was about 10/15 mm above the maximum level.I drained out 1 litre of oil to get it back to half way between min/max. After a month and about 500 miles its back up to the max. And now its constantly smoking under acceleration(unless gentle). I went to shark last week and they scanned it and came up with no faults so going back next week so ben can have a look. Asked skoda and explained(bar the map) and they said its gona be a scan to start with at 50quid even though ive told them its been done and there bound to blame the remap if they find it, and I know theyl charge the earth!(344quid for a service!!)I basically asked them to check there work or if they would do a goodwill offer seeing as its just had the service but they werent interested.during the service it had a diesel injector and engine flush if that makes any difference.Does anyone have any hints on what I should do or what it could be? Would prefer to leave it at shark but its and age away from me!
  8. Ive just rang tesco insurance as im half way through my policy, theyve said they wont cover a remap atall ever for anyone as it increases the performance..... But theyl insure a 335 or an m3? Hmmmmm. Looks like ive gota wait til March! No doubt theyl make a note on my account so thatl b the first thing they check if I have a smash :-(
  9. I wonder if you could give me some advice too. I had a car crash 2 years 6months ago, it was his fault and he wrote of the car. I hit my head on the side window n that was the only pain I had really. The next week I noticed I had lower back pain and told his insurance company to make a note of it on the record but I didnt plan on claiming as I thought id get better. Anyway it got worse, and now ive just done a few months of physio but no real improvements, grrr. Is it too late to claim. I didnt go to the docs for it until last week when the physio told me too, theyve just done a blood test. I know having money wont help my back but my insurance has gone up even tho not at fault so a bit of cash wont hurt. I didnt wana claim on principle and im still undecided but just need a bit of advice. My second problem is.... My girlfriends car was hit when it was outside her house last year, the neighbour paid for everything and my girlfriend informed her insurance co, they have since put her policy up and have told her she has to put down that she has had an incident which pit her renewal up 200( and she didnt think to look around!!), if she changes insurance company this year will she have to inform them or is it irrelevant and still have her no claims? Thanks in advance
  10. Ive just got a can of foam in the boot. 60plate vrs cr hatch. Im looking in to getting a spare and jack but when I had my 18" neptunes off recently I tried it in the spare wheel well and it is about 1 cm too thick so the carpet sits high and floats on the edges, so any weight not directly above the wheel will damage the carpet. Any one else have this problem and any ideas how to get around it? Id really prefer not to have a space saver in there and have a proper alloy.
  11. Agreed, a pointless option on the switch that il more than likely never use. When ur driving at dusk, u shud hav ur lights.............. Just kiddin ;-)
  12. I was going to go for the vreds, but ended up going for Goodyear efficient grip performance again. They are a very good tyre in my opinion( but have nothing to compare them to). They are nice and quiet and very Grippy, for the first 2000miles on them I couldnt make them spin on the cr vrs no matter how fast I pull off! Now they arent quite as good but still have no issues going fast into a corner when wet.it never understeers or feels twitchy.Got them for 84quid a corner on tyres-uk.Co.UK.just gota get them fitted on rears as they have worn very unevenly n gota get tracking done and hope for the best! Kinda annoying as tyres still have about 6mm or so!
  13. Ive got a vrs diesel 60plate and havent seen an average over 42 mpg to a tank! I do tend to drive a tad quick sometimes but most of my miles are done around town. Ive done an eco run from Coventry to solihull and got 64mpg at 60mph and cov to brum at 65mph got 60mpg. Doing 70 takes my av down to bout 56mpg. Worst I had was 26mpg over 16miles, driving a bit too quick in the town. Going to my girlfriends 7miles away mainly 40roads driving sensibly will get me 46mpg,never seen more than 50mpg being ultra carefull! But I came from a 1.8 passat n id be lucky to see 33mpg being carefull so I cant complain ;-)
