So ive already said i want to reject and not repair, can i go back on my word and agree to let them repair?

my mechanic is quoting 1250-1950, yes i did they werent massively helpful to be honest just said send a recorded letter to them, but because they have offered to repair i dont know where i will stand, i dont at all trust them to repair it and could cost me 100 quid just to find this out which i why i want to reject, ive done less than 500 miles since i bought it

i sent a letter saying if they wont let me reject i will go to court but when i told them on phone i sent it and wanted a refund he said fine to taking him to court

And the turbo, the mechanic stated it had a lot of play in when checking and it does have a sort of owl/siren noise when you let off throttle

Yes i spoke to them, they said send a letter of rejection and if they refuse take them to small claims which from what ive read on google takes about 6 months and you might not win and end up paying thier court fees.

I hear so many stories about people getting "apparent fixes" from the dealer only for the problem to resurface a week later, it will cost me 100 in total to take it down and go back to pick it up

I dont think they would repair, i was thinking k seal for gasket and sell as sold as seen

So ive learnt a hard lesson in car ownership. Bought a fabia vrs pd130 car from a back street garage and after 2 weeks found out it has head gasket failure or the cylinder head has cracked and the turbo needs replacing. Anyway they wont let me return the car but offered to repair, now i dont trust them at all to repair as they lied about fixing a puncture so god knows what else they would lie about, it is also 90 miles away so a risk to drive that far with the current issues. So i have a few choices: Drive to garage at the cost of 50 quid as ill have to get the train back, and trust them fixing it properly (unlikely). We buy any car it and keep my current car. Trade it in for another car (get more for trade in but pay more for another car) Pay for repairs (between 1250-1950) depending if the heads cracked or not.

Erm a week or so i noticed so i rang the garage to let them know i was keeping an eye on it then a week later noticed it had gone down again so had it checked out. I thought 2 weeks was reasonable and how else can i contact them, even recorded delivery doesent show the address im sending too does it??

So does anyone think e-mailing is a good method of proof that contacted them and rejected the car? Ive only covered 500 miles and i first contacted them exactly 2 weeks after and told them i want to reject the car 15 days after purchase.

I see your point but i only have an address on the v5 which im awaiting to get back so might not recieve a reply for ages

The one previous owner was from miles down south so i think it would be unlikely to be that car, the place wasent great tbh they were friendly but i didnt get a great feeling when i was buying but they have been open a while, yes i recieved thier email this morning and im going to reply back tonight saying i want to reject due to the seriousness of the problems but im going to speak to trading standards tommorow also by the way do you think email is a good way to comunicate in terms of proof of what was said? As writing letters and posting them would take forever
