  1. We have used a fair number of Skoda Octavia estates for this type of application. Skoda did offer through fleet supplies a solution for Met Police, to stop the rear grounding out over speed humps etc, I'm pretty such it was a kit (supported by Skoda) Eibach made the kit, and it included rear springs and revised antiroll bar for the rear. id seen it in a Skoda Fleet circular a few years ago - unsure what models it covered (model year and type).
  2. Sorted out what this car was. Oct 3 Estate 1.6tdi 4x4 manual, SE-L. second 1000mls in my hands (done around 6500mls from new) is showing 56mpg - can't say fairer that that id say. coming out of a bigger / comfortable car, comfort is decent enough - slightly noise in the cabin (from the rear?), and front seats aren't quite all dayers (but not chronic)

  4. The problem with inheriting a company motor - no idea what it is (model/spec wise), and shaky condition from the previous user!!. Octy 3 Estate 1.6tdi 4x4 manual, i'd say SE perhaps with a tech pack maybe. 16inch alloys. Has Nav, DAB, Cruise Control, Auto Main Beam. Name that model? Got it home, and its had a 2stage machine polish, sealant, and then wax to finish. Inside properly detailed. Looks respectable now. So far seem to severe up 49mpg over a couple of tanks. impressed with the space ava in the cabin and boot, compared to the exterior dimensions, my last motor was much bigger and had less room inside. Do around 30k per annum, so it'll get a decent test over the next 2years.
  5. Looks like we might have secured a stock car with Skoda today, been a real pain tying the lease company to a stock car with Skoda UK. Skoda Octavia Estate, 2.0tdi, 4x4, L&K, Cappuccino Beige exterior and the inevitable brown interior. asked for roof rails to be swopped for silver ones how have people found the brown alcantara material for showing marks? worth getting interior scotch guard type protection done??
  6. Hmmmm - not looking good to secure the L&K model, looks like dealer won't release to lease company. So its looking more like Octavia 2.0tdi 4x4 Elegance with optional full leather and heated front seats, in Metal Grey with Black interior (which will probably be more me too)!
  7. Thats what i was after. I wondered if other VAG cars had them in the rear too - with a compatible unit.
  8. Doh! yeah this needs updating to block - grr can't edit that bit!
  9. Hi All - introduced myself here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/325213-new-kid-on-the-bock/ Does anyone know if the L&K model has ambient lighting in the rear passenger lighting unit (like the front 1 does for the centre console/gear leaver area) or does another VAG item have the function if not? Hope this isn't a question i haven't searched for correctly. Thanks Craig
  10. Hi All After much procrastination, I've decided to order a replacement car. The criteria was this, Estate, 4x4, 2.0ltr diesel, generous, value less than £28k. Currently got a SUV type car, but wanted sharper handling and less bulk. So the result, ordered a Skoda Octavia Estate L&K 2.0tdi 4x4 (manual). Colour - cappuccino beige, and the much maligned chocolate brown interior. Extras - front mud flaps, rear boot load protector strip, replace black roof bars for silver roof bars (can't understand why these latter two aren't included in the L&K tbh), and currently negotiating swopping the wheels to the Golus (not so easy). Car is in stock at the port, so should be ok for an early Sept delivery. We've got a 100 odd Skoda Scouts in our fleet at work, which live a hard life and create us very little trouble mechanically, and generally everyone likes driving them. And a colleague has a new generation Skoda Octavia 4x4 which drives great. I wanted to wait for the new Scout, but it's just becoming untenable regarding the final delivery dates for 1 - Skoda UK account manager stating nothing until late January (just taken too long to bring the new Scout to market). I guess i'm a bit concerned about the brown interior image, but picked the cappuccino colour exterior to match better - i think maybe i've had too many cars in silver or grey with black leather interior - so we'll see how that goes. Looking forward to going back to a manual grinder for a change, and lovin the number of standard fit features on the L&K - so hope it'll impress. I'll update in Octavia section when it arrives i guess :-)
