VRS 245 DSG MPG improvements with mileage?
mumphie replied to Bugginbob's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
31K on the clock now. I've had 50.1mpg on my commute, but when the weather was nicer. I'm getting 44mpg on the drive in at the moment. -
Me too, but it always end up back at blue!

Don't the new carS also come with the GPF ?

REAL 245DSG, 67 reg. 20,000 miles. Long term trip says 38 mpg but I’m getting 43-45 mpg on my daily 100 mile commute on the A19 into York. I’ve had upto 49 mpg a couple of times. Should also mention - I’m running 235/35R19 PS4S all round which I’m pretty sure are a little less eco than factory tyres

Currently averaging around 44mpg on daily commute. Trip says I can make 530 on a tank. I don't trash the right pedal. The roads are free-flowing and slightly hilly. When I climb, I drop a couple mpg quite easily. Coasting in eco usually pulls it back up. It's all about driving style and the roads. If you've got a decent downhill for 2 miles, and then a gentle uphill for 10 miles, of course your figures are going to look good. Doesn't mean they're any less legit -
Nice! Hmmmm. Wonder what they’d look like if the former diamond-cut bits were picked out in gloss black...? Effectively inverting the factory look?

Wheels all look small....

Sorry.... Not resetting your trip after a fill-up is causing me anxiety...

Also forgot to say - tyres also seem to have a much higher impact than I'd first thought. Got Michelin PS4S all round now and there's a noticeable drop in mpg since moving to them. Presume it's mainly because they're grippier tyres in seasonal conditions than the OEM Pirellis....

Wow! 15.99 mpg....

I agree. On a decent tank, computer shows I could get 510 miles to a tank. But fun and heavy right foot usually puts paid to that. Couple of sets of temporary traffic lights on my usual route don't help either. Stop-go traffic has a huge impact.
