I recently bought a 2007 vrs estate and the turbo whistles, I've read loads on the subject but all the information is very differing. There is no loss of power or any smoke and i took it to a local mechanic who says it seems fine just a bit loud but with there being no power loss it should be ok. Should i be worried or not?

Hi I'm looking for a bigger car as my Mrs needs my Rapid sport for herself and the kids and I'm not driving around in her Corsa! I was contemplating a Astra Estate or Astra van as I mainly use my car to go go fishing and take my 3 dogs out. I have however found a 57 plate vrs diesel estate local to me which has done 80,000 miles for around £5500 which is more or less my budget. I've always bought the newest lowest mileage car I can afford and am a bit nervous buying a near 10 year old car with what I'd consider high mileage. Is there anything I should be looking out for in this particular model, should I be worried about the mileage and what in general is people's opinions on this car? Thanks in advance.

Cheers fellas, I will get it done, just had lots going on and was hoping I could wait a week or so. I was just worried that I might have invalidated the warranty if it had been slightly over a year, I assumed it had to be done at a main dealer at set times for the warranty to be valid.

Yes that's the obvious thing to do but I only realised yesterday that I might have an issue and they were shut, with it being Easter Sunday, and I can't get hold of them today. I was just hoping someone on here might be able to help put my mind at ease.

Hi, I've owened my 14 plate rapid sport since August last year. When I bought it the dealer told me I could have a normal service after 12 months or a major service after 24 to keep it in warranty. As the car is now a year old, I'm slightly concerned I may have just missed out on the frst service to keep the warranty if what the dealer told me is incorrect. Any help or advice would be appreciated on when and what type of service I need to get done to make sure the warranty is ok. Thanks in advance

I've had my Rapid sport for a few months now and done about 2000 miles in it. I drive 12 miles to work and back (24 in total) on a dual carriageway 4 times a week. The rest of my driving is around town, taking the kids to school and taking my dogs out. My average since I've had the car is 37.8 and it it has stayed at that for a while. If I have some time of work it goes down a bit and if I don't drive it other than to and from work it will go up a bit but it always finds itself back at 37.8. I have got high 40's out of it on the wy to work by doing 50/60mph but I'm still enjoying it too much to do that all the time! I did expect a bit more and I'm a bit disappointed but I don't do any long distance driving and I haven't yet tried to be very economical so i suppose it's not bad for such a big car even with a small engine?

Thanks for the help, I sorted out the fuel consumption reading. Any ideas on the wet patch on in the footwell?

So do you think I might be getting water in the doors as I can't tell other than the Windows smearing? #1 fuel consumption just shows numbers that are constantly changing any totally unrealistic. #2 fuel consumption used to work fine, now resets itself every time I switch off the ignition

Hi all, I got my Rapid 1.2 sport a couple of months ago have a couple of issues I hope some on here might be able to help with. Firstly the average fuel consumption on the MFD, keeps resetting itself every time I take the key out, now this is not a major problem however I find it really annoying and it didn't use to happen. Secondly I have a wet patch in the driver's footwell, I wouldn't have noticed this but it has now soaked through the floor mat so is now noticeable. Lastly every time I open the window when I close it it is smeared with water even when it is bone dry outside, I'm slightly concerned after hearing stories about water collecting in the doors and hope it has nothing to do with this. Any help or advice will be appreciated.

I picked up my Rapid sport today! I asked on someone else's thread whether I could play music on my phone through the speakers using Bluetooth and was told yes, however when I try nothing comes out of the speakers on the phone or in the car. Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

Hi, sorry to hijack your thread but does Anyone know if the Bluetooth allows any other features whilst connected to your phone , such as playing music on the phone through the speakers?

How exactly do you debadge? I think it looks much better without and would seriously consider doing it to mine.
