  1. Hi, I'm considering buying an Octavia3 TSi140 with a DSG7 (brand new, not used). I find the fiddling with the ancient design manual gearbox more and more mundane... But, I have heard a lot of bad things about the DSG7. So, has VAG solved the problems by now? Does it deserve the bad reputation, or do you think it's a good buy by now?
  2. I own an Octavia 2010 5speed manual, TDI105. I have noticed that when I depress the clutch slightly, just until some resistance is noticed, I can feel a slight "thudding" in the clutch pedal. I dont know how to describe the feeling, but its som kind of vibrations that are clearly related to engine rpm. When I rev the engine the thudding/vibrations increases seemingly in line with the increased rpm of the engine. Also, I have the last couple of months noticed that there is something strange with the drivetrain. It sometimes sounds/feels like there is some kind of play in it. Most obvious is when driving slow on 2nd gear and alternating between depressing and let-go of the accelerator pedal (in real world, this occurs eg when driving through a small roundabout at mediocre speed). When the car transits from beeing retarded by the engine (throttle not pressed) to beeing accelerated by the engine (acc pedal pressed) there is clearly some kind of play. Any ideas if there is something wrong with my car? Or is it just me beeing paranoid?
