  1. Hmmm... It should not peel off paint when removing stickers surely? That would become expensive! Not keen on buying modded cars of non forum members. Usually (but not always) means they are not as well cared for. Removing the stickers should be ok it is the vynal that makes me nervous. Stu
  2. I really don't like the stickers either. Just wondered if the owner was on briski . Also is it easy/expensive to remove the stickers? Stu
  3. Hey peeps I have been offered the octy below and wandered if anyone knows it? Just want to get more info on it. Also, is it easy to remove the vynals and stickers? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/largepic.asp?i=2019453&noPics=7&make=SKODA&model=OCTAVIA&imgsrv=1&current=1 Stu
  4. Supridingly not! The RX8 is more fun to be honest. I miss the straight line speed and the fact no one had a clue what it was or what it was capable of though. Obviously it was more practicle but i dont have a family so that is not an issue for me. I wanted a coupe while i could own one. No doubt i will be back in a hot hatch once I have some nippers. Let me know how you get on withe the leon cupra. I never got around to test driving one, but seat surgeons might be on the cards for leather trim?
  5. Rotary has smooth consistent power output with no sudden...wow shi@t! but really good. It is my first rear wheel drive car and the handling is superb! Takes some getting used to but great.
  6. Yeah sold it about 3 months ago...bummed to see it go but the rx8 is superb! Just about to fit a spoiler and lowering springs:) looked at the leon FR, great choice for speed/fuel economy, map and intake and some are running 300BHP at the fly wheel! Best of luck with the sale mate...sad times...
  7. Had someone hit my mazda 3 MPS aero in a motorway service station car park. Left a scrape about 20 CM's long and 10CM's highh and just drove off! I was eating so didnt realise until i returnrd to my car. Had the wing mirror on my RX8 knocked so is scratched, person drove off again...people are C#cks! They are too worried about an additional £50 on next years insurance premium to stop and do the decent thing!
  8. I would buy shiftys car as well. You will only find yourself in the modding game if you dont. Personally i like to buy cars with mods to save cash. he would have looked after that really well to so well worth it! If i wanted a skoda i would get that for sure.
  9. How are you finding the v-maxx coilovers? I looked in to these. Seem really good for the price? Did loads of research on them then sold the bloomin car!
  10. Firstly i would put a RARB on and see if you are happy, if not look in to suspension alternatives.
  11. Well while this thread has mad my day i have to say fair play for giving it a go. It is all part and parcel of the learning curve. You will make more mistakes but that is life! Personally i know i am pap at that sort of thing so leave it to the body shops. At the end of all the work if you are happy that is all that matters. I bought momo torque 3000 wheels with black spokes and deep dish high gloss silver rims and everyone said it looked poo...now look around, every other sod with a black car has similar wheels. You took the jibes well so fair play mate.
  12. Rear anti roll bar will stiffen up the chassi and it is cheaper than fitting new springs/shocks or coilover set. The spring and shocks should be fine really. Just a sign of them getting on a bit. How much are you wanting to spend?
  13. It is hefty tax (Even more for my RX8!!!) but if you are forking over 10-15k for a sports motor you can probably afford it. If the MPG is similar to that Astra it is a no brainer, especially when it comes to what you get for your money with the MPS in terms of racing seats, bose sound system and it handles the power really well! Plus a intake (£250), high flow cat (£300) and you are running at 280BHP ish!
  14. What they said! I did map, colour coded milotec grille, green panel filter, PD 160 intake, lowered, new wheels, splitter, re-badge in a short time and had loads more planned! All good fun...
