  1. Eddie-NL I could kiss you! I have been under the fabia for 2 hours. Took both front wheel arch liners off, couldn't find it. Searched the engine bay and just as I was about to give up I rechecked this thread and saw your reply. So for anyone doing this who has a broken siren battery causing alarm issues. The siren is under the scuttle tray, bang in the centre, slightly to the right of the central wiper arm if you are stood in front of the car. It was a 20 minute fiddly job but I managed it without taking the wipers off. Thanks for all replies. I bought a new one it was an eye watering 117.95 from TPS! The one I took off was Italian no brand on it. The replacement is Bosch and is quite a lot heavier. Hopefully that means it will last more than 4 years this time. I'm quite disappointed this has broken. My other fabia is a 2006 and i think it is a similar part but has not died yet. Must have been a dodgy cell in this unit.
  2. Thanks, I will pull the liner out and have a look. Fingers crossed!
  3. Hi everyone. I have a knackered siren on my alarm so need to change the unit. I have had a good search on briskoda and google but can't find any info for the fabia 2. If anyone knows where its hiding it will help me swap it over quicker. Thanks for your help!
  4. Second dibs for me please if jerbear doesn't take them. I'm able to collect whenever as I'm only in Chesterfield.
  5. I did this recently and had the same issue. I have full VCDS but that didn't help! Eventually I made sure all doors were unlocked (unlocked car with button then opened the faulty door from the inside with the handle) and disconnected the battery for a few minutes. That worked, hope it works for you! Sent from my BlackBerry 9320 using Tapatalk
  6. Hi guys, Thanks for your help. My only reason for not upgrading is that I only dust off this computer for using VCDS and otherwise leave it on a shelf in the garage. It doesn't have wifi so I will need to climb on a chair and plug it into my router. Will stop being lazy and will get it upgraded, and by what you are saying, that should work. It is running XP (very slowly) so should be up to required specs. Thanks for your input. Sent from my BlackBerry 9320 using Tapatalk
  7. Hi, sorry, should have put that on. Its full version, real cable. Although I am only running version 704.1 as the only laptop I own is very vintage! Have used it fine for logging sensors etc and DTCs. Just can't get it to do this. Sent from my BlackBerry 9320 using Tapatalk
  8. Hi, I have a 2006 fabia and have searched the forum for details of how to recode the steering weight. I think I followed them correctly but when I change the number and click 'do it' nothing happens and the soft code continues to be shown as the previous figure before my change. Could anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong? Apologies if this has already been answered somewhere,I did a search but couldn't come up with an answer. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  9. Hi Mick. I have tried to PM you but not sure it has worked. I would like to purchase the roofbox from you. I have put my foot down and think its worth the journey. Please confirm receipt of PM. If not I will try again! Sent from my BlackBerry 9320 using Tapatalk
  10. No problem for not getting back to me. Unfortunately you are a bit far away from me. I'm only at J29 but have a 6 week old baby and haven't got time to nip down that far at the moment (that is what my wife is telling me when I told her anyway!). Sorry to have messed you about! I imagine postage or courier would be quite pricy for an item that big! Sent from my BlackBerry 9320 using Tapatalk
  11. Hi there. Is the roof box still available? What is your location? Thanks! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  12. Try CT1 it is a sealant that you can even use underwater! (But hopefully its not that bad!) Anyway, Skoda dealer sealed my doors 7 years ago with the genuine stuff, it lasted 6 months then I did it myself with CT1 and it has never leaked since! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
