There will be a base, probably an ISOFIX one. I just need to know if anyone is successfully using any base and 'Cabriofix' seat in a 2010+ facelift car really to reassure me that it would fit. As I don't have either the car or the seat yet I can't check myself! Otherwise I don't understand why it would be ok for the earlier Mk2s and not the later ones!

A lot of people here with the Maxi Cosi CabrioFix - I'm trying to find a car seat that fits: a) the travel system we are probably going to get, b )my wife's Fiesta, and then c) my new car that I don't have yet! It is probably going to be an Octavia II VRS, but the 'Maxi Cosi CabrioFix' is shown as not fitting at all in ANY of the seats. Is this wrong then? Is there much movement? I'm confused! Edit: The site seems to say it fits a pre-facelift but not a facelift car. Are the facelift seats different, or they just haven't tested it? Anyone use a Cabriofix in a facelift post 2010 car? Thanks for any reassurance and help! This is our first child, not here yet but I'm going round in circles trying to get something that all fits together!

I've just got back from a couple of weeks holiday and notice mine is peeling really badly! I'm sure it wasn't there before so it must come on quite quickly. It looks awful - now I see it is a fairly common issue.

I went for the first time this year and loved it! Too much to see in one day though. I agree Skoda had a major presence there, especially at the rally stage. Oh and thanks skoda for my ID badge holder thing, and the free cake. The Fabia nice/naughty exhibit thing was good fun!

Hello, Did a quick search on this - a few similar issues but maybe slightly different with my symptoms. Anyway, I've noticed an intermittent problem with first and reverse gears, as in they become very difficult to put into or out of gear. It typically only happens for a brief period after I pull up to a halt and then after a couple of attempts appears fine again - until I next come to a stop! If my foot is on the brake I can also sense a sort of clunk when this happens. What do we reckon? Car is a Fab VRS, 60k-ish miles

Fabia RS official photos and info

Haven't read the whole thread, but is it the case that they can't actually put a manual in this platform with this engine? because it isn't even an option on the Fabia, the Ibiza Cupra or the Polo GTi? It would otherwise be a bit foolish, because I for one still prefer manual control. -
Finally got round to cleaning the car...

Looks good. I loathe cleaning the alloys! -
I was concerned that my local Skoda dealer say they don't have/get PD 505.01 oil anymore and they use the apparently Skoda recommended Shell Helix VX 5w-30 which says 504 and 507. I trusted them, but the engine sounds a bit noisier. Are many dealers saying this, or are they wrong?

Mine has been sounding like it is cranking slower first thing in the mornings, although it still starts relatively quickly and hasn't failed to start - but enough difference to make me get the battery checked. The battery is apparently charging OK but seems to be still doing it when left for a day or over a very cold night. This afternoon it did it and also sounded pretty rough for the first few seconds and the coolant warning light came on (but not when used again later). Coolant warning level is above the minimum so it is reassuring that it is common error in the cold weather, but I'm not sure what the iffy sounding cranking is about as it can still do it after a decent journey the day before... I guess if it were glow plugs the starter motor would crank quickly but not start, right?

I didn't really believe the story, until I read a link on his sig - his 'attempts to overcome social anxiety' topic with videos http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=119211681 Very strange chap!

Fabia Door Leak - 2 garage trips & still not fixed!
TomH replied to *fergy*'s topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Yeah, it hasn't rained properly since I did mine so the test will be this week! A couple of the door clips did not appear to have black washers on while the rest did - does water come through the holes where the door card attatches too? -
That's the kind of thinking outside the box I'm after, hehe! Thanks. So I have to take the rest of the trim off from round the window? what a faff! I'll try again tomorrow!
-
There was something rattling around in my boot lid so I took the plastic trim off to find what it was and take it out. Turns out it was one of the metal clips that holds the trim on. Anyway, I'm struggling to get it back on - it is a right old juggling act holding it up with the pull strap through, and I can't seem to get the two corners into the window in order to align up with the other bits at the side of the rear window. :( So, any tips or methods to do this? There seem to be posts on taking it off, but not methods for replacing!

Cartman or Butters - both are great characters, and the relationship between them is great. The one where Cartman pretends to be a robot is perhaps my favourite episode.
