  1. Had the same problem. Took the seat out, Cut the wires and removed the connector and soldered the wires together. Got somebody with vagcom to reset the code- job done
  2. Brodit pro clip everytime. I've mounted mine in front of the centre air vent nearest the driver so if it is hot the air con can cool it down. They're a bit pricey but fantastic quality
  3. My car did this regularly when I first bought it. Took it to Jewson Skoda and it turned out to be a fault with the part (excuse my terminology) that turns an electrical signal into a mechanical one in the gas pedal. All fixed under warranty. Couldn't tell you about fault codes though
  4. Evening all I've done a quick search but can't find the right answer. My seatbelt warning light/message keeps appearing/ sounding despite my seatbelt being secure and no weight on any other seats. I've checked the during loom under the seat but this seems OK. Sometimes the light flashes once! Sometimes for 10 seconds or so. When it shows for a few seconds! The only way to make it stop (other than having the patience to wait for it) is to lift my backside off of the seat, only for it to show a few moments later. This annoyance is very temperamental and some days I can enjoy a journey with the light flashing once. For reference this is on a 56 plate L&K Thanks
  5. I live in Oxford Jewsons Skoda is alright albeit a bit pricey, although they're pretty good at price matching to take your business. It might be worth driving a few miles down the road towards Witney though, where you'll find Grey Gables Skoda. Family run business and they tend to be cheaper than Jewson. Hope that helps
  6. Well obviously. What I mean is, I'm being told it needs doing at 4 years/40,000 miles, but the manual only mentions a change at 120,000km. Sorry for confusion
  7. Does anybody know why the service manual states cambelt change is needed after 120,000km?
  8. Thanks for the advice guys. I've asked a mechanic in my village for a quote. He reckons it'll be about £500 all in but he's gonna get back to me later. I really wasn't expecting the service to cost this much but hey ho, such is life. I've only ever been to stealers for servicing on my Skodas. One expects higher prices to reflect higher quality. My MOT is due at the end of this month also and I've noticed Nationwide Autocentre in Oxford charge £215 for Full service + MOT. That excludes Brake fluid and Cambelt but maybe my mechanic could do just those 2 on the cheap...
  9. Hi Guys Haven't been on here for aaaaaages. I'm after some advice though if possible. My 2.0 TDi L&K Octy is due its second service in 400 miles times. Its on a 56 plate (so 4 years old) and has only done 30k miles. Its on variable servicing. I rang up Jewson Skoda in Oxford today to get a quote. They told me service was £370 + £60 brake fluid change + £390 Cambelt change = £820!!!! Surely the cambelt can't need changing after just 4 years/ 30,000 miles?? I've looked in my service manual and it says that PD engines only need a cambelt change after 120,000km? Is this really the case? And if it is, is the price good? Cheers guys.
  10. THANKS STUBAX! tried your method and problem solved. Saved me taking trip to stealers
  11. In my laurin and klement when I put it in reverse, the left wing mirror used to point down to the keen but now it points up?
  12. Evening guys and girls. I've got a wee problem. I decided to change the c5w standard bulbs above my rear number plate for c5w l e ds (pure white). However, when you turn the headlights on they only stay on for about 3 seconds then go off again. Same thing happens when you unlock the car with automatic lights selected. Any suggestions? Oh, and the answer I'm looking for doesn't involve swapping the bulbs back
  13. thanks for the advice guys. I bought a Comma Air Con cleaner from halfrauds today and it seems to have worked for now. only time will tell whether it works properly. Again, thanks for the advice
