  1. Having owned a DSG car previously, I can safely say they have ploughed a lot of R&D into the technology to make it work properly now. The computer "knows" which gear is best, rather than guessing as it used to. The paddles really make the gearbox though. I switched to driving in manual and if you drive ahead of yourself as you should, you can really make the gearbox work. Drop a few cogs, feed the power in and the car just comes to life. There i no lag of any kind. Its like driving a petrol/diesel hybrid (whatever that might be like!). It made me chuckle a few times. I couldnt really rate the interior as it was dark, however it felt like a Lupo. Steering was positive and really well weighted. I used to hate EPS, however since Ford hit the EPS nail on the head with the Fiesta, other manufacturers seem to have picked up their game and made it work. The EPS in my old golf was just dangerous and gave no feedback at all. Ride - Nice, could be firmer Handling - Nice Power - enough for now Would I buy one? - Second hand, maybe. I wouldnt chop my current car in to get one though. Looks - like its on stilts. Any attempt at improving the "looks" will make it look a bit rudeboi. Its a catch22. You either have a car which looks like a mobility scooter or one which looks like scooter the band. It was hard to judge conclusivly as when I test drive a dealers car, I find myself respecting it probably a bit too much.
  2. Stick me down to attend. I'll bring the DSLR too to take some photos
  3. Update - Dont install Unite, unless you want to apply Blackberry Enterprise-like IT policies to your device, which for a casual user isn't a good idea.
  4. Oh yes, its a stunning phone. Got mine on Saturday, although the orange rep told me their instructions were they couldn't sell it until Monday.... still got it though. Just installing Blackberry Unite on my home server, although its not really living up to expectations. Shared Calendar is useful but its a totally separate calendar to the google one i sync with. Useful though that it allows you to deactivate your device if stolen, or change the password to annoy the thief. Highly recommended phone!
  5. Its beneficial to some people to work that way, however for a car which includes personal fuel, if you have to commute 50 miles each day, it works out in your favour to keep the car. I break even after 7000 miles a year, which is easily done. I shall go and tell our fleet manager how this really works, and hopefully shut up our resident eejit who believes its the way i first described
  6. Excellent, i had a feeling that might be the case. I was seeing a company car as being something in place of additional pay (as both are a benefit). Its a good system if it works that way then
  7. Question - I've been asked this and am trying to work it out for a colleague.... If you had a car where the taxable benefit-in-kind value added to your salary pushed you into the 40% bracket would you still pay 22% or would the 2 added together push you into paying 40% tax on the BIK? The reason i ask is if you took that BIK as a cash sum added to your pay, and that figure tipped you into 40%, you'd then pay 40% Thanks Dave
  8. It all depends on the dealer. We have to send our peugeot's to maidstone (20/30 miles away) to get the warranty work done as the local citroen deealer wont do it. Its down to dealer choice and whether they're registered with the manufacturer as a warranty repair centre
  9. Do they not have a yellow pre-warning light come on when running low? The golf lets me know when its just touching the bottom of the marker. Smoke and oil usage is very much normal. I get LOADs of smoke from cold. Smoke is handy for annoying tailgaters
  10. Does that include their Diesel V Power?
  11. I thought it was the same size, just with squashed up buttons on the front display and a 0.2 of an inch bigger screen?
  12. N95 - search for issues online. battery life isnt fantastic K810i, just a K800i with round buttons. I'd say wait for the N81 (smaller N95 hopefully with fewer problems) or K850i, or maybe even the W960
  13. I'll only consider them to have given up once they remove the CE from our pint glasses and replace it with the crown again.
  14. Alternativly if you have onenote, take a screenslice of the text portion and get it to OCR the slice.
  15. Yeah, once its fired up it runs fine, its just that massive hurdle in the mornings. Its seemed to do it every morning, although this morning the ground was wet. Forgot to mention its 55 Reg with 42K on the clock, although comparing that to Mannyo's, it should run fine :s.
