  1. while enjoying my drive to work this morning, the "engine emissions" light decides to come on. after a look at the handbook to find out what it was all about i carried on to work, the car seems to run fine with no noticeable loss of power (as the book suggests), has anybody else had this fault, or has anybody got a likely cause/cost idea, as the warrenty is now out and the wife is doing her nut. 2002 octavia vrs.
  2. Hot glove linesman (working live at 11kv) for the largest supply firm in the country.
  3. stylish

    real ales

anything by woodfordes, and preferably washing down a meal in the fur & feathers next to the brewery.
  4. well the car has been into chequered flag (attleborough) and they have fitted a new header tank and water temperature sensor, so will see how it goes, but no complaints about there service.
  5. cheers for that, am going to take it to my local dealer tomorrow, will let you know how i get on. strange thing is the car stood for about 4 hours after i got home just been out in it and it didnt do it !
  6. My 2 year old octy vrs has started to play games first thing in the morning. This morning on startup the coolant warning light came on, i checked the level all was ok, started up again and the light had gone out, drove to the garage for my morning paper on the way to work and it didnt start as quickly as usual, all the way to work it ran ok with no obvious signs of anything wrong. has anybody else had this problem if so how did they get on.
  7. will have to look out for you on the bury to diss road as i work out of diss and head for bury several times a week.
  8. i live a tasburgh, also on the a140 9 miles southof norwich, reguarly see a red octy vrs on the a140 traveling towards diss, but i am in the works van all the time. several vrs octy & fabias about but only seen 1 with briskoda stickers.
  9. my dad bought 2 copies yesterday, one for himself and one for my son, needless to say dads is in the case with his collection of rally cars, my sons needs a trip to the shed for a bit more superglue. kids dont you just love em!
  10. as someone who works in the supply industry, the new cable colours have caused some concern among jointers and linesmen, for years the uk has got on fine with red yellow blue, and black for neutral, but now euro****s step in and tell us this has to change. we are just waiting for someone to get a phase and neutral crossed, we have got stickers posters etc all over depots and vehicles to remind us so hopefully it wont happen, as for the neutral on the 11kv network there isnt one, i spend most fo the working day hanging onto live stuff and i aint seen one yet.
  11. getting the wife out of my vrs is harder than getting money out of her. i now console myself to the fact that a 1600 polo is ok for getting to work in but nothing more, roll on the weekend so i can have my car back. :(
  12. i used a lead from a nokia phone charger, the plug fits perfectly, i had a play around in the light cluster and found a switched live, and permanent live and used the suction cups to hold the snooper on the screen.
  13. i took out the interior light cluster found a live feed and soldered the lead onto it hey presto snooper sits behind the mirror and no long leads to look at.
  14. the fabia uses the 18t block and head castings, but benefits from the crankshaft out of the diesel, of course it has been tweaked and refined and is an improvement on the octavia engine they used when the fabia was first introduced.
  15. fair play to the skoda team, the car has come along way in the time they have been away, and they could do alot worse than put one of britains up and coming drivers in the car.
